Porsche Turbo Cab vs. Ferrari California Decision

Porsche Turbo Cab vs. Ferrari California Decision
I own a 2007 Turbo Cab, and am thinking of switching to the Ferrari California
Looking for advice, pros/cons, any general thoughts.
Possible reasons to switch
- sick of turbo lag
- real hard-top
- have had Porsche Turbos for a while, thinking of trying something new
Possible reasons not to switch
- love my car still
- Ferrari is 2 wheel drive and I live in the North East USA
- I use my Turbo as a daily drive, can the Ferrari be the same?
- My kids (four under 7 years old) ride in the tiny Porsche back-seat and love it, will they fit in the (I think) tinier Ferrari 2+2 back-seat?
Of course, I’m writing this note as I don’t think I know all the pros and cons!!
Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a turbo cab and with the mods I've done I will easily take down a California, but I know there is more to it than that. I basically look at it as Porsche vs. Ferrari is like Engineering vs. looks. The Ferraris are nice but fragile and I like to drive my car hard and put miles on it so Ferrari is not the best brand for me.

I would not dd the Ferrari, both from a financial and a reliability standpoint. The new Ferraris have come a long way with durability, but it is still not a Porsche in the areas of operating cost and reliability.

Lag? Really?
People wonder why I'm such a fan of the K16 Hyrbrid turbos/springs/FPR Kevin/UMW sell for these cars... Can you say BIG BLOCK CHEVY power WITHOUT THE LAG?
Seriously, for the money you'll save in not buying a Ferrari and getting bent over on service/maintenance/reliability, maybe you should consider spending $10K on a turbo package that will do away with any drivability issues, give you a minimum of 30% WHP gains, increase your fuel mileage, and reduce turbo lag to a distant memory...

The porsche is a dime a dozen, atleast the Ferrari is unusual. Personally I'd rather have the Ferrari for long term ownership and weekend drives. Can't beat the 911TT for daily use, especially when you live in an area that snows or rains....
Plus who puts their kids in a Ferrari!!?!?!? That car is for people having a mid-life crisis; you can't include your kids in that!

both cars can be categorize as best of both worlds, ferrari has a retrac hardtop
the 996tt is a cab w/awd and backseat:d
everyone that talks about power ,the california is not a slow car
motor trend test
0-60 3.5
1/4 11.9 at 117mph
60-0 braking 100ft
top end 193mph..
not bad for 3916 lb car..
like what fastlane said, there's more to it than power
just a choice you have to make a convertible gt car? or a retrac hardtop exotic..
