Could just be a weak battery. I'd try replacing that first, then talk to the dealer if need be.

only took them 15 minutes to reprogram mine. Bring all your keys in because they need to do each one.

Sometimes if you haven't used the keyfob for a while, the battery losses it's juice. Try to put the key in the doorlock and turn it (I know, what a PITA, archaic, process!!!) it's supposed to "recharge" the battery or something. Sounds stupid, I know, but I've done it (after suggested by a fellow PCA member) and it works! Beats the bundle of money you'll be charged by the dealership!

is not that the battery looses its juice, is that the electronics need to be re-set and that is done by opening the door with the key. in this case the battery is fine, i.e. red led light flashes. his electronics does not operate accordingy. unfortunately needs new from dealer. do not think that no one except dealer can program the key.

Default key fob issue

well, i will try it...i did already open and lock the door with the bad fob key....
the alarm went off when i unlocked it with the key....after i locked it with the same key before goin into the restaurant....
the LED is bright as the other key fob...
it's too bad that it requires dealership involvement.....
i do have a 30d 50% labor off/50% part off 'warranty' from bev hills porsche....
i'd hate to drive all the way there....maybe riverside walter's porsche can do it....
well, i couldn't figure out how to change the battery either...i would put the batt from the other key and swap/and try but...if that resets the other fob too....

any other things to check?
