Did the Turbo S come w/the X50 type upgraded gearbox w/the steal synchros, etc?

Also, does anyone know if the X50 gearbox had a cooler on it.

AFAIK....there has been no change in the difference between the 05 Turbo S and the previous 02-04 X50 with the exception of the addition of the MOST radio system in 03. The 01 didn't have the glove box or the coffee cup holders. That's about it.

Yea, from the research I did, none of the 996TTs came with an external cooler, and I couldn't find anything that documented a change in syncros... All of this will be done if/when my gearbox gets rebuilt!

I believe the GT2's had the external gearbox cooler as standard equipment. But you see ads for X50 cars that claim they have steel synchros and external gearbox cooler....
