MY EVOMS 996 TT Porsche runs 231.4at the Texas Mile!
I went out to the Texas mile to see what my 996 TT was capable of .This car was custom built by Evolution Motorsports in AZ and is a true street car.It weighs in at 3208 without driver and was run in full street trim(no removing mirrors, wipers ,or seats. It also has working a/c, radio, and full interior. The car was run at 28lbs of boost which is about 4 lbs of boost short of being maxed out because the car is a handfull to drive at those power levels on street tires. It has 4 or 5 mph more in her but we lost a front belly pan on the first run on friday so we had to remove the rest of the belly pans and white knuckle drive it for the next two passes on Saturday without any belly pans.It went 231.4mph on Sat making it the fastest Porsche in the world to ever compete in such an event. If we had belly pans and the stones to up the boost, well ,you get the picture .Here are some pics from the event.Joe

Joe, amazing achievement ! It's been a long road, glad to see you finally got the payback....with interest. I cant believe how smooth the engine sounded in that video. Heck, at the starting line it was idling away just like a stock car... Be safe. Kevin

It is a handfull up to 120 where it gets full traction then stabilizes till about 175 where it starts to feel a little uneasy but only for a short period of time ,like somewhere around 200(you have to remember i wasn't watching the speedo the whole time)where it settles back down and is pin straight. The first day was really scary....jumping off a plane with 4 hrs of sleep...and jumping in the car after not getting behind the wheel for 6 months and running 221 on the first pass.It didn't help the winds were in a different direction at the end of the track.

The engine is very smooth ,unbelievably smooth actually,it doesn't even feel like its working hard.It revs like a GT3 cup car at idle.

It would be great if you could to keep everyone informed of the inevitable downsides to a monster like this, reliability (inc how long the gearbox lasts), maintenance (ongoing costs), emmissions (does it pass any tests ) , even fuel consumption would be interesting....
