This is kind of what I'm looking for. Thanks ! An owner with the same driving style experienced in both types and who keeps records. Rennlist is such a great resource.
I am going to assume "normal" driving in a 996 TT means a few spirts now and then to clean the cobwebs.
Of course at full throttle the X50 will consume more by its very nature.

I've been driving hard at all different speeds giving friends and family a fun experience in my new-to-me X50 02 and got 16.7 this last tank.

I am around 16 in town [15-17] and 26ish on the road [25-28].
Protomotive 24/18's.
Mileage actually increased with Proto package. Go figure....

I bought my car in Houston and drove back to central Ohio...On that trip I got 24.5 mpg and averaged 74 mph per my computer...stock X50. I have since flashed and exhaust and getting 16 mpg daily which is 9.5 miles in 17 minutes 5 or 6 lights.

I see on the Upsolute website they promise the same or better milage with their flash.

"What are my benefits going with UPsolute?

A reduction of your fuel consumption (at same driving fashion)...... "

I have little information about the Upsolute product line. All I can tell you is that if you go to the poll that was conducted recently on which performance flash folks use, you'll find the most prominently used products displayed on a bar graph. I place more credibility with the folks who actually use the product as a customer and can comment on its performance than I do with the product propaganda put out by the manufacturer. I believe that the poll listed UMW, EPL, GIAC, and about half dozen others along with individual comments about who bought what and the benefits of each.

I think the right pedal must be sticking; my X50 daily driver is currently showing 15 mpg on the OBC for mixed driving, (I have been making shorter trips recently). I've seen as high as 20 on a trip up to Sebring (highway & fast roads)

Doing my part to stimulate the economy
