+1

I ran an amortization on a $40K/8year loan at 7.5%. After 2 years your principle balance is still $32,000.

How much will a 996TT be at wholesale in Feb. 2011?

Not a drop so far... guess you will have to go for the towel, chamois, and bucket...

I actually will just sit in the car, engine off and relax.....really.

It's completely irrational. The 996TT was my first Porsche, so I'm a bit attached to it.

My 16 year old son has a much nicer daily driver, 2008 VW R32. Very nice car. He got the heated garage with his mother's car and the Porsches....my Escape sits outside (it's OK, engine block heater and timer works wonders)

Yes, it gets wet in a cleaner, much more controlled manner.
No, it doesn't make sense, but therapy obviously isn't working....

That car has hi milage (for this market), ugly interior, rough around the edges and few options. It's probably only worth 35k these days. Looks like it's been rode hard and put up wet imo.

7.75% is my rate. Not the best, but not aweful for a long term loan... My first problem was getting my payments to a level where my wife would not freak out... I had to put 20% down, so my balance is not huge... I will most likely have it paid off well before 8 years...

This is just what I had to do to get it under the "wife radar" if you know what I mean... Now that I have the car, she like it!

I have not heard of people getting an 8 year loan. I hope to put 20k down on a 35k 996TT myself in 2 years. A lot of car for the money those 996 Turbos are !

Smart move on the 20% down! The wife radar is tough proposition that we all have to navigate. Congrats!

Yeah, now I need some advice on getting some mods under the wife radar. She about had a fit when I came home with an air filter...

She said, so, whats that Porsche box in your back seat? I said an air filter. She said, why are you hiding it from me. I said, I wasnt, I just forgot about it... She asked how much. I said, dont ask...

Oh well, she keeps us from being broke, so I guess the balance is good!

There is still a place in the world for 6K mile garage queens.
Yeah, I'm guessing you don't want a picture of my mud splatters 996, almost completely covered with salt, with the fur embedded in the front bumper from the deer I hit.....
