doc...did you get it installed yet...would love to see pics. did you have to get the hub as well. i also notice that the wheel does not have the fvd logo on the bottom, which i think its nice because it takes away from the oem appearance.

I haven't had time to install the steering wheel yet...it's on my list of things to do tomorrow though. I'll post pictures.

Yes, the Daytona GT needs a hub for 996 installations. I ordered the hub (from FVD) in metropol blue leather.

I guess FVD is not installing the logo anymore. I intended to tell them to delete the logo from my steering wheel, but forgot to do it. I was wondering how I was going to cleanly remove the logo...but the steering wheel came without it...I got lucky.

Here is a picture of the hub...not yet attached to the steering wheel (but this is where it goes)...

The wheel just looks a bit blank without the Porsche crest. Are there any good options for adding one. Hopefully a solution exists that won't put a piece of metal through your skull if the air bag goes off.

I had a guy embroider the silver porsche crest on mine (added a new leather wrap to the airbag).

My new FVD steering wheel is actually the look I was looking for. It will complement my intentionally designed low key interior (all-metropol blue, no "aluminum look", no carbon fiber)...
