Default Half GT2 llok on 996 TT

Hello all,
I am looking to install only the front GT2 bumper on my 996 TT

any of you have Pics from this set up? (i.e front GT2 bumper without the rear tail? on a 996 TT??)

thanks in advance

harris

p.s. if the pics could be on a silver car that would be great

Here you go. I have 2 friends that say it looks unbalanced without the GT2 rear wing but they are GT2 fanatics. Everyone else seems to like the look. I personally don't want the bigass (but beautiful) GT2 wing on my daily driver.

I think the 996GT2 front is one of the best looking stock bumpers. Like the E36 M3.

No need for GT2 wing. What kind of "purple" is that - paint to sample?

I like the "look" of the GT2 front too. The problem with not doing the rear wing is creating an aerodynamic imbalance between front and rear. You really need the rear wing to counter balance the increased down-force created by the GT2 front clip. If you aren't planning to drive at high speeds, then this may not be such a big deal, but if you plan on doing track events or midnight runs, then you might want to consider doing the rear as well.

harris- You're welcome. I'm glad that was helpful, and I don't mind showing off the car.

b5audia4- Viola Metallic. Special order for MY 2001 only. I do not know of any others, so if anyone else does please let me know.

Bob M- This was my concern. Three years ago my wing was stuck in the down position and the rear end was very loose above 80mph. As with most things, I got used to it. When I replaced the wing motor I was shocked at how planted the car felt. That was before I changed to the GT2 front. I regularly drive up to 120s and my Vmax has been 175. No problems at all, but it may be that I have become accustomed to the way it drives. I will post an alert if I have an issue with the setup.

Do share where you source the parts, cost, etc. I would also like to make this change down the road...

Wachuko- it is an aftermarket bumber which lets you keep the original 996TT radiators, ducting, etc. It does use an OEM GT2 lip. The OEM GT2 bumper requires you to change to GT2 radiators, hoses, ducting, etc, as it sits more forward than the 996tt bumper and effectively disables the 996TT cooling system. This one is made of flexible polyurethane-ish material similar to original but there are fiberglass ones out there for less money.

Alex_55- Thanks! They are the Work Brombacher 19" wheels with gold centers (also known as VS-XX or something like that). They are Japanese and while not the lightest, they are extremely strong and very well made.

I'm down in Brownsville, but I visit Houston 1-2 times a year, would love to see your car in person.

Can you share provider and cost? I like the idea of not having to change all those parts. Tom Kerr just went through this and the parts list was significant since he used all factory parts.

Thank you.

all the real deal GT2 radiators, ducts and hoses................ added a CF lip with 4 inch ground clearance for down force and the car needs the rear wing for down force. 2 seconds a lap faster at Sebring since the aero changes.............

That may work for straight lines but not at Daytona at 180+ on the banked curves
