Default EVO GT610 Kit Released

Hey folks, whilst I was out at EVO in Jan I got to try/test their GT660 kit and GT610 kit (both based on the same Garrett turbos) and both designed to do away with the K24 as a notion of an upgrade The GT660 has been out for a few weeks and now so is the GT610 kit.

http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=172

Features:

-EVOMS / Garrett GT High Flow turbochargers w/ patented “quickspool” turbine housing

-EVOMS custom wastegates w/ CNC machined billet aluminum mounts

-EVOMS Machined oil line conversion adapters for turbochargers

-Denso spark plugs

-OEM gaskets and installation hardware

-OEM Bosch ME 7. 8 engine management system with EVOMS proprietary GT610 software calibration

Note:

HP : 611 HP

TQ : 603 TQ

For an easy-to-do bolt-on the responsivenes and power was certainly better than anything from a stock K16 or stock K24.

NOTE: I'd advise a clutch upgrade of some sort

here's some plots for you with 91, 93 and 100... As you can see the AFR's are at 11.8 up top and boost is maxed at 18psi. What's really neat is it gets full boost around 3400 and then no drop off..

alex..the description of the kit as stated on your site does not mention evo headers. that is why i want to clarify. does the price as stated on your site then include the headers as well? thanks manny.

Sorry manny I need more sleep I'm going off of the 660 which does have the headers so this plot/kit is actually on stock headers.

how much of an upgrade compared to the k24 hybrids would there be??
Is this too much of an upgrade on stock internals for a track car??

the 610 should be fine on a street car. 610, 640, 660 and 700 all have been on street cars for years. That's not to say you couldn't do damage on the track. As you showed even with a stock motor anything is sadly possible As far as comparing it to a K24 hyrbid... do you mean a K24/K16 or a K24/GT30 or?

hey tom and just to re-iterate what I said on the other forum about doing this on a track car... I know GT700s have and do... Whether it's Nurburgring or the Bay Area tracks (that's the car's we've done that get tracked anyway). Adding power to a pure track-car (which is what yours sounds like?) is a different ball game and you're right to ask. If I remember right you blew your motor when it was basically stock, correct? Either way I can only tell you from our experience that plenty of GT640s, 700 over the years have been pounded at the track and passed but these were/are at the end of the day still street cars. For the type of racing you're doing you want to address cooling, weight and have conservative power much more so than on a street car. It's not a super-high "crazy" HP kit and designed to be a daily driver. The way the power comes on (as you can see from the dyno) is pretty nice for the track I would think. Full boost by 3400-ish is very useful. For a track car and bearing in mind your history, I'd first see how this new motor is doing (log it) and then take a safer baby-step approach to adding power. Start with an exhaust, a program/flash of some kind. Test, test, log and log... see how things are and then so on.

Thanks for the reply Sharkey, but Iam still confused...
Maybe I dont understand but the dyno appears to show 3 runs indicated at the top as 91, 93, and 100+. Is there a 100+ program for this kit and is it included or do you purchase separately?
