I can't find them... I went to the Recaro website and can't find them...

I see them in the R32 under OEM seats... with no model number...

Wachuko, what about Cobra Misano seats?

They are quite popular among 993 owners.Hope they can fit 996 too.

I tested (in a beautiful 964) and liked these:

But those only come in black...

Not sure about the fit... but looking at the ones a few 993 owners installed, those should work better (fit wise) in the 996TT. I emailed them to see if they had a leather color close to the Graphite Grey in our cars. Not too thrilled on the chrome bits it has but those could be painted Seal Grey later... Thanks.

I am getting them for the 964... but would love to also put it in the 996TT...

I got the reply back saying that the only do them in the color listed in the catalog... so no Graphite grey...

nice seat but 32lbs, which i assume is without the rails isn't much lighter than the stock seats. I believe the railing adds another 8-10lbs. So not much weight saving...

Light would have to be the GT3 seats... those do not work for me with the children.

So I am looking for more supportive, sport looking seats that will still recline. Recaro does not make this model in leather to sample (or any shade of grey)... these would be my second choice (after the factory 997GT2 seats...) if they came in grey.

Cobra can make them in any leather color... but I would love to see a set in a 996TT before taking the plunge... I will post a thread on 6speed to see if anyone there has them.

There are benefits to going with a black interior... ... I can't get the thicker leather steering wheel in grey, nor the sport seats,

Maybe it will be easier to change the rear seats to black... get black front seats and the black steering wheel (that would look odd with a grey air bag...)...

Ohhh nooo... sweet seats! I got in and those things just held me in place nicely (5' 7", 38W, Latin butt , 210lbs ). Very nice seats that would be great for the track as well as the road... specially for someone like me that still needs access to the rear seats for the children.

True that the real test would be how they feel after a 3 hour drive... but I could not feel anything wrong with them the time I was in them...

Manny, the reports in Excellence are true to the car... that PDK is something else. I still feel that the manual is part of the whole driving experience/pleasure but man! could I be happy with that PDK...

Engine, glad you asked! I have stayed away from the first gen 997 because of those disposable engines... reason why I never got into a 996 either... had to be the 996TT...

Porsche is supposed to use this new engine in the whole production line of cars (997, GT3, TT, etc.) I will still wait a year until we see some of that materialize, and real world feedback to be around.

I tried to take a few photos but needed to head out to pick up the children at school... maybe I will stop by Sat to take a few more.

But overall the car is awesome... I was already sold with the first gen ext and interior, it was the engine that kept me away (and the cost $ ) . But this one, wow!... I already gave my saleman a list of the options I want and told him that I just wanted to give it sometime until the early adopters started to drive them hard. Good thing also is that it looks like the GT3 will be out sooner than expected.

Edit: No, the backs are not adjustable... only tilts forward...

Go to the dealer and drive one already!!!
