Thanks for the input! From the feedback I think that I'll be keeping my eyes open for a good deal and hopefully will soon be a TT owner.

Midnight's car is definitely a good-looking auto! I'd love to buy it from him, but unfortunately I'm plagued by having to sell my car in this depressed market as well. There are a few black 01-03 TTs that have a good amount of mods done to them for right around the same price or less. I hope for both of our sakes that a midnight blue ride can demand the extra $$$, but value-wise I think it may be better to go with a black car with more mods. I'd be willing to pay a little extra for the color I want, but I'm not in any rush ATM and it may be easier (and cheaper) to wait for the right deal.

Having had both now, you would definately be Very Very happy with the Turbo. The performance differential is dramatic.

I picked the mechanical attributes of the car and didnt care what "color" it was, didnt think it meant that much to some people!! To each his own, good luck with finding your "perfect for you" car, it will be worth the wait I am sure.

This is what Kelly Blue Book thinks my car is worth:

I'm looking for an offer in the mid $60s, which is *below* kbb for "excellent" cars, but above what people on this board want to pay.

IMO better to pay more for the right car with a known history than exactly the color you want. I know I paid a little more but I ended up with a clean unabused vehicle.
Yes I ended up with black too; most of them out there are either black or silver.

I had a C4S too... C4S + TNT = TT ; you won't regret it unless you buy an unloved one.

Sharing some of my shopping experience. I looked at a couple where there were cracks in the rotors at 14k miles; they otherwise looked beautiful lower $.This is very unusual at such low miles. I quickly found that shopping to a price wasn't giving me access to the better cars.
