Had enough...traded for a HiHY

My wife had a 2006 Highlander... I hope you have better luck with yours (and Toyota).
We couldn't wait to get rid of ours.
OEM tires lasted less than 10K mi. (Toyota said this was normal)
Brakes lasted 15K mi. (Toyota blamed it on us, but we didn't change our driving style)
Had a fault where the engine would die for about a second on left turns from when new. You can see the potential for disaster here. It still had the problem when we traded it 2 years later. (Toyota said if they can't reproduce it, it's not really a problem)
Steering rack went at 25K mi. (First Toyota mechanic said the clunk was normal, but when we said BS the service manager drove it and wouldn't let it off the lot because it was unsafe).
I should mention that my wife is a very competant driver (on and off the track) and these problems that Toyota called "driving style" had never appeared on any other car in 30 years of driving.
Good luck man, sorry to see you go from the TT club.

Yep...you guys are too quick...it is a joke. I did get the HiHy (traded my Lexus GX). I love it...getting 31mpg and 34 in the mountains. Much superior to an 06 in style and comfort...also the HiHy uses regenerative brakes...I will probably not have to change the pads for the life of the car. OEM Michelin tires and an iPod plug-in.
I'd never give up my TT!

The wife has one with the onbard nav...and I love it too. When she bought it I poo-poo'd it and told her it was a waste of money...but I've changed my mind. She has put 30K on it in 1.5 years and it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Tires are still good to go for another 15K miles.
