If the tips are stainless steel the discoloration can easily be cleaned.

I live in Spotsylvania, Va. Half way betweem Richmond and Washington DC.

The whole system, including the tips is stainless and that discoloration comes off every tmie I clean the car up.

This system is truly the buy of the century... It's worth way more than John is selling them for, no doubt.

The price and performance are certainly attractive.

From the photos, fitment seems not quite "there" though. The exhaust tips appear to be touching the bumper, and no where near centered in the bumper holes. Most people could probably live with this though, provided that the bumper doesn't melt or discolor.

Not so... Although those pics are mis-leading you to think that, the system has plenty of adjustment to get the canisters and tips aligned perfectly if you take the time to do it.

I looked thru my pics, and I don't have any real detailed pics of my system as it is on the car, but the system adjusted into the same position as stock.

Did you see my post #27 in this thread? They are perfectly centered. In the other photo, it's just an optical illusion that they touch the bumper. It's the same car in both sets of photos.

It seems there is much discussion about mounting and looks. My question is how does it sound? Loud, quiet, drone? I think the look is great, the price is fair, but is there a sound clip anywhere I can hear?

I'm also interested in subjective comments about the noise, especially drone from tiptronic users. Thx.

I had two other systems that were headache makers... Drone was absolutely horrid and the systems would both rattle the heatshields at 2200RPms... This system has NONE of that. From 2-3K rpms the tone is deep and a little louder, but no drone at all. I'm now complaining about TIRE noise, which is a good thing, because I couldn't hear it previously. You can hear the system in this clip from two weeks ago at the track...

I'm passing much louder cars and I'm on the gas alot... This system is quiet and will allow you to turn your oem stereo down to 7-9 on the volume and not require you to yell into your cell phone at highway speeds.

Mike, your car seems considerably quiet compared to the white car you passed at the start of the video, and the wind noise was definitely louder than the exhaust. Strong car too...

It's a bit louder than I had expected between 2k rpm and about 2.6k rpm but not bad at all, just a deep tone. Before and after that range it is pretty quiet. It burbles a bit when I come off throttle which I think is pretty cool. Whenever I drive through a tunnel, I always blip the throttle or mash the pedal if traffic allows because it sounds so damn cool. With the wife in the car, I keep it in 5th on the highway and don't linger in that 2k-2.5k spot when tooling around in 2nd gear.
