Does anyone have an idea for getting rid of the awful cassette tape storage under my awful cassette tape player? my car is an 02 without nav.

I bought an OE CD holder (watch eBay) that snaps into the same slot. Porsche also makes an open tray/box to fit that same slot. You'll find that the facia stays, and it has a universal mount on the back for the optional bits that I mention above.

You just pull it out. I replaced my cd holder with a carbon box. If you want my oem cd holder, PM me.

I replaced my CD holder with an open tray - you just open the tape compartments, grab them with both hands and gently pull while working the assembly back and forth and it will pop out. It's a 10 second job. It appears to be a standard size opening that will accept either the tape holder, cd holder or storage tray. I found it more useful to have a place to put things like sunglasses, phone, etc. than a place to store CD's or cassettes.

Eric at bumperplugs might have somthing. When I got rid of my 8 track on my 996 GT3 thats where I went.
