Default PSS9 settings

I just had my car lowered and PSS9's installed {Sorry, no pictures. I am a computer barbarian}. I had my tech set them at 4 front and 5 rear. They feel the same as stock to me, maybe a little softer at low speed over bumps. For the street, I like it. Of course for DE's I will stiffen them up.
My question is: Is there a rational for a softer setting in the rear? How would the car change with the softer setting in the front? I know I can experiment myself, but I would like to hear the collective knowledge from the board before I start messing with it. Thanks.
