Default Trailer for towing track wheels - possible?

I'm asking for my dad who drives a 996TT at the track. He just bought a set of Fikses with MPSCs on them for track use, and we're looking at options at getting them to the track. I understand light trailers are fine with a NA 996, but I've been told that because of the different turbo engine it's not possible. Is this true? Is the roof rack a better idea?

Thanks!
Chris

Never heard about the TT being a problem for towing a tire trailer. Seems easy for the car to do.

^ +1.
I've seen a oouple of TT's towing a Southsport Tire Trailer.
Trailer hitch was the type where you remove the rear bumperettes and attach, works well.....

A bit OT, but I would prefer the TT's M64/GT1 derived block engine to ANY M96/M97 engine....for anything, towing included.

towing, roof rack both ok. If you have the Cup tires and are "not too far" from the track I drive them there on the car and that also is ok. other options are (and one of my favorites) get one of your buddies to take the wheels to the track for you!! there are always several buddies that have room to carry an extra set of wheels!

Hey all, thanks for all the help. I think we'll go the roof rack method, as it seems to be the easiest, though perhaps kind of goofy looking

I'm about 170 kms from Mosport, dad's closer to 300, so driving on them isn't a great option.

One of my friends is a race car fabricator who earns a few extra bucks by providing a race tire livery service. For a nominal fee, he will store, transport, mount, dismount, and clean your race rubber. He's super **** about safety, so he will also inspect the wheels and tires after every event. There may be something similar near you.

Here is a pic:

It's been done by a few Rennlist members across almost all Porsche models.

Sure, I'll post a couple pics, but of course that won't be until the summer. I'll do a writeup on the design of it, too. I saw another pic somewhere on rennlist that had rails around the outside - I like that idea for 2 reasons: 1. it gives me something else to attach a wratchet strap to, other than just the bottom piece and 2. it allows us to put some more stuff up there, like maybe a small toolbox.
