Hope these help. Get a good carbide burr (I like the flame shape) and be prepared to spend a lot of time. I followed the burr up with sandpaper rolls, then cross buffs. It's rewarding if you enjoy working with your hands. The polished ports are almost pretty.

I wonder how many ported headers are now leaking due to cracked welds?

They should not crack if you don't grind to much off the header.

I "may" swap mine out but certainly would not do the porting myself. It would be nice to have someone do it that has done about 100 already.
This seems like a DIYselfer should stay away from unless they have experience with this sort of thing!!

A few years back Imagine Auto did the porting with exchange, but has since found an after market header that does not produce increased lag but does yield increased flow. Maybe Stephen will chime in. I was thing about them but they are a little pricey.

I am demodding my car, so I'll sell my ported factory manifolds for $600 exchange. The only caveat is that I need yours before I pull mine off the car.

If you also want the UMW Stage 2 ZC turbos, UMW wastegate actuators, 5 bar fuel pressure regulator, and programmer with stock, modified, valet, and race tunes, I'll give you a package price. The car trapped 126.6 in the 1/4 mile the day I ran it at Sacramento with this bunch o' parts.

PM if interested. Oak, I won't be expecting a PM from you.

I have been doing the porting on the factory headers for close to five years now. And done correctly I have not had "one" set fail.
