Get the tt.....chip if you want....contact a good tuner (don't go piece by piece on your own): Steve at IA, Kevin at UMW (I have used him for things), Sharkster at Sharkwerks....EVO, PROTO.....

Anyway....I also think the AWD is safer....

And this ad (really hate the 'file photo' statement) is really making me crazy...I'll be checking this out this week.

Edit - Here's the dealers website with actual pics.

Hi, Just my two cents.
I had a Gurds red 95 993 with many nice upgrades, including suspension. I sold it to an other rennlister when I bought my 04' X50. The turbo boost will help you forget the 993 very quickly Do not get me wrong, the 993 is a great looking car.
For me, a stock X-50 has plenty of power. All I have done is upgrade the suspension with a PSS9 system, GT3 brake ducts, 997GT3 shifter assembly and a few carbon interior peices. Great car.... Either way GT3 or TT, you can not go wrong. ENJOY...AL Z

For anyone looking for an x50, mine is for sale! (I am actually now starting to consider a 993, but that's another discussion). Its a 2003, perfect shape.

Default Where?

Um, where are you located? I'd like to...umm...see this car in person.

Where's my checkbook?

If you are talking to me, the car is in St. Louis. I'm not trying to overtake this thread, but I will mention for anyone's interest that if you are from out of town, I am happy to show the car to someone from the list who lives in St. Louis to share their impressions. Additionally, we have a great independent Porsche shop here, Reid Vann. I am happy to have them inspect the car for someone. They inspected it for me when I purchased it and found no issues that needed attention.

996tt's have quietly become the biggest Porsche performance bargain ever. Some down as low as the high $40's/lower $50's for an incredibly fast car with infinite performance mod potential. The 997Gt3 is nice, but I sold mine b/c it simply does not have the mad torque the tt's belt out.

I own both...you can't go wrong either way. Back seats and big torque are huge plusses. However, if I could pick only one, it would be the GT3.

I'd say mid to high 70's is completely fair.

Just a point of reference. I bought a 03 X50 with 2,500 miles on it a year ago. It now has 5,000 on it with no problems so far. Drive it very hard once a week.

Duane, do you mind telling me what you paid... could PM me if you prefer. This would help me tremendously to understand whether pricing is in the ball park of what is out there.

65-85k is the going price for a low mile my03 x50 car. Wide range, but alot depends on the actual milage/use/condition/options. But, 80 is on the high end. I looked at a my05 996TTS with 1200 miles, aerokit, went for 106k, I almost bought that car, similar on the surface, but 2 yrs newer and a lot added in the S package, so similar value if the options are comparable.
Ah hell, get the TT!
