996 TT purchase question
I'm interested in purchasing a 996 TT with less than 10,000 miles on it. I found one car on the classified section that was posted on 9-25-07 ad 7021, the dealer is asking $77,000 for this car with only 3,700 miles, but there is still no pictures offered at this time. What do you think about the price and does anyone know anything about this car?
This would be my second Turbo purchase.
Thank you.

You'll find folks who put a premium on low mileage car....but I think that any TT that has around 15-20K miles on it will be selling for around $60-65K....or maybe a bit higher....but $77 for low mileage in my opinion just isn't worth it. That 02 probably has a year left on the CPO warranty...so you'll never get your money's worth out of the mileage part of the warranty.....so the only thing you're really buying is the low mileage.....there's a lot of 02's out there for a lot less....and some have some really nice options on them.

Hi.
x50 has been discussed a lot...see the search feature. I think I probably asked this same question a few years back. Most do. Not a big deal. If you cannot find it in search, say so and a more guru type will pipe in.
Bigger turbos mostly (k24)....bigger as in air pushed. If you really read closely, not bigger in terms of the casing. But, that is another story. Stock car has k16 turbos. the x50 has more top end potential.....

There's a lot written on the X50, but in a nutshell, it has a beefed up tranny, the HP is upped from around 413 to 450 and a few other upgrades that cost the original buyer an additional $18K. I just bought one with 19K miles on it and a CPO warranty till next September...aero kit and loaded with carbon fibre options...for $67K. I looked for almost 5 months....the search was made more difficult because I wanted a particular color....silver and black are the most often encountered...and I wanted blue. Keep looking and you'll get a good feel for the prices. They're going down unfortunately for the guys who paid MSRP....
