Agreed. I like the modular features of the Fabspeed exhaust, plus they make a "quieter" version for the cabrios....hopefully I can hear one in person before spending the big bucks.

Thanks John D. I'm interested in the Fabspeed and Cargraphic because of the 200 cell cats. But everyone raves about the Europipe its hard to not to consider even considering its price. Im still on CPO and don't want to start tripping CEL's all the time.

hey guys I'm in the same boat...trying to decide between EP2 loud and cargraphic loud...ive search this forum and 6 speed up and down and the only difference i can find that people report is the cargraphic exhibits some drone and the EP2 doesn't at all. I think the EP2 is heavier than the CG, but i could care less about that. I'm changing the exhaust solely for the acoustics. Can any1 who has heard both comment, or anyone have anything material to add, assuming price is NOT a factor?

i found this statement in the archives, and to me its actually very relevant given all the speed bumps in my area:
"the cargraphic export is on the loud side esp at cold start up and with moderate resonance. another issue is if your suspension is lowered the exhaust cannisters have a tendency to bottom out and scrape over speed bumps. the build quality isn't as top-notch as ruf of euro."

Well I'm in the same exact boat, and have swapped from a modified "stock" system to a Gen2 Fabspeed, and back to the stocker... I was considering the EP2 Quiet, and the new Fabspeed. What I really wanted was something that would give me a full 70MM setup thru the tips without all the droning. So I went with John's new system and it will be in on Monday. I'll report back how it installs and how it sounds. I really didn't want to buy a system without hearing it in person, but John's price is unbeatable, and he bent over backwards posting sound files for every scenario I asked for... So I went against my better judgement and ordered it. Should be in on Monday, and I should have it on by Tuesday if I'm not hi-jacked for something with the company or the family...

Yes, please do let us know. I'm new to Porsche so forgive the ignorance, but just what is John's system? I did not see any reference to it on his posts. Is there a "quiet" version for the cabrios?

Thanks

guys i've been driving the car for four weeks now and the sound keeps getting better. on cold starts the tone is a little louder but quiets a little after the engine warms up. i have no drone or ressonance what so ever. the car is my daily driver and so far no cell, and i do not expect any, or any other problems.

Great info. John's price is amazing considering the alternatives. I am eager to hear how it sounds, sure would love to hear some of these in person. Anyone near Thousand Oaks, CA??

Europipe has 100 cell cats. I have the Europipe Stage 2 Loud, and have never had a CEL.

Hi Chris,

No, there is no relationship between the two companies. I was personally involved in the design of the full 70mm Speed Technologies Exhaust and it did not involve Fabspeed in any way.

Ted,

Mike loved his exhaust and spoke very highly of it on another board and to me personally. Unfortunately, some of his best comments were lost in a system failure, but there is still enough of the thread saved to get an excellent idea of his thoughts... Hopefully, he will see this thread and can answer your questions here on Rennlist...Also, there are several other Speed Tech systems about to be installed, so perhaps some others will post comments in the near future.

I love my Cargraphic exhaust. go on to there website. they have sound clips of the export loud. On cold start is it loud. but sounds awesome! once the car warms up, it has a very nice burble and a mild touch of raspiness too. You can also hear the turbos spool now. the cars response is much quicker. But I truly bought this exhaust for the sound. I find myself blipping the throttle under every bridge or parking garage. Sets off car alarms! It gives the car *****. I hated the stock X50 sound of my porsche. It does have some drone from 2 to 3k rpms, but its not bad. You definitely have to hear this exhaust in person b4 buying it. And its is a little pricey with the Euro up, but the acoustics is intoxicating.
