UMW Stage 2 ZC performance results
First, the excuses:
1) I'm still running the stock exhaust.
2) Had PSM on for the first run.
3) Tires are ~ 6 year old OEM Pirellis.
4) Original clutch, which needs to survive a few more months.
The car:
'02 "normal" tt with Kevin's stage 2 ZC turbos and home-ported exhaust manifolds. No other go-faster mods.
The story:
I ran the car at the Sacramento drag strip. The weather was very good, about 70 degrees in the late afternoon, dropping to low 60s by the time I left at 8:30. I forgot to turn off PSM for the first run, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it resulted in the only 11 second ET. All other runs were with PSM off and massive wheel hop on.
With PSM off, there was no way to sneak up on full throttle in first gear without massive wheel hop. And after sunset, the car was breaking traction at about 5500 in 2nd gear, too, which is when I decided to bag it and go home.
The results:
Best ET of 11.9 (with PSM on), best trap speed of 125 (PSM off). It will be interesting to see what impact a free flowing exhaust and better tires have on the numbers. It's not as much fun as the road race track, but it is fun!

Congrats Jeff, the stock exhaust isnt helping your cause at the track. I think with a good free flowing exhaust you will see some gains in the future. 125mph isnt bad stock with tires and exhaust. .....

I have not been to the dyno since installing Kevin's Stage 2 bits, but a common hp calculator, hp = weight * (speed / 234)^3 , puts it at about 550. I plugged in 3600 for race weight, including me, and 125 for the trap speed.
The reason I like to know the 1/4 mile drag strip trap speed is that it gives you some measure of the area under the torque/rpm curve, whereas the typical dyno quote* is just the power (or torque) peak. Dynos are great for tuning, but I'd rather measure the results at the strip.
*I realize that some shops do post the whole torque curve.

Jeff,
125 MPH trap is very good, especially with a stock exhaust.
