930chas.....thanks a bunch for the information! I will steer away. I would love to know how to find the info you reported about frame damage reported. That is vital to a "Deal or no Deal".

Carfax is useless. My old car had a carfax report of an accident in '04.....but I'm the only one who ever drove it since new and it was never even close to being in an accident.

Have you called your insurance co in 04 and inquire about a possible claim? I heard from a person that sometimes that is all it takes. If your ins co believes the car may have been hit they will report it to carfax.

Agree about carfax, half the flood damaged cars in Texas have a clean carfax.
