I thought I heard the offsets are way different. Could be thinking of something else though.

The fronts fit, but the rear tire size needs to be changed and I think you need spacers. They actually look better on the 996tt than the 997tt.

That's my recollection from speaking with the guys at W.E.

The problem with the 997 wheels on the 996s is the offsets. You need spacers, but even with spacers, the wheels (partucularly the rear wheels) end up pretty deep in the well. A very non-aggressive stance, IMHO. I think your better off with 19s that can be fitted with a much more aggressive stance. If you want factory wheels, I like the Carerra Sport.

i dont think you guys are looking at the correct wheels, if you want to get the 997 tt wheels for the 996 tt, you must get the 997tt wheel offsets, not the 997 offsets.
996tt rear wheel + tire is 11in wheel, 45 offset and 295 tire
997tt rear wheel + tire is 11in wheel, 51 offset and 305 tire
that makes the wheel/tire combo sit exactly the same in the wheel well.
it does look nicer on most other cars than the 997 tt

When I enquired with wheel enhancement the replied with the follwoing comments.

A set of 8.5x19" and 11x19" Porsche Factory 997 Turbo forged wheels includes a set of four matching center caps with black crests. A set of four 5mm spacers and twenty Porsche Factory extended length lug bolts, needed to fit these wheels on your 2005 996 Turbo S, will be an additional $255.00 USD.

The tires from a 997 Turbo are not the correct sizes for a 996 Turbo and will burn up the front differentials if used on this application.

Why would the Tyres burn up the front diff??
