Default Powerchips

Anybody on here running the powerchip ecu flash or know anything about this product? I know they've been around and pretty popular in the 90's with the chips. How about reliability and if not this company who do you like and why??

They claim the $2450 flash bumps the HP/TQ from 415/415 to 485/498, respectively.
Thanks for any perspective on these. Thanks

I would stick with a tuner that has extensive experience with the Porsche ECU. Companies that spend most of their time on naturally aspirated engines are not as likely to have good success with the 996tt as guys that have focused on turbo Porsches all along. My wallet voted for Kevin at Ultimate Motorwerks, and I'm VERY happy with the results!

!! You need to talk with Kevin at Ultimate Motor Works!! . With his system you can switch from stock to modified ECU in a matter of seconds. And the continuing relationship and after sale help is unbelievable from him.

And another vote for Kevin at UMW.

And what the guy said above. They do not appear to have a lot of experience with the TT and feel like you would be a guinea pig for them. On this forum and 6speed I am not aware of one person that has that chip/ECU flash.

I'm new to the Porsche so maybe ignorance is bliss, I seen an ad from a company called ( inmotion.com ) & sent my ECU with a check for $250.00 & it came back no problems & the car runs great. The fellow who does the work took the time to answer my questions seemed knowledgeable & helpful. Now I don't know if it's fair to question paying $2,500.00 for an ECU re-flash but like I said I'm new at this & would just like to share my experience.

Wow, Turbo Lou, you are a very trusting soul!! I have never heard of this tuner and you are going to trust his tune on your $70000 car because it only costs $250. Let me tell you, if your AFR`s are the least out of whack, you just fried a $25000 motor!!! Think about it

I had the GIAC flash (stage 2) it was OK, but when I went with additional upgrades it no longer met the needs. My UMW program is written specifically for my car...and it is awesome!

Actually it was $ 82,000 ! I maybe new to Porsche but not to OBD II & I talked extensively to the tech that was doing the programming. He impressed me to having all the right answers to my questions. This has been some time ago & have not experienced any problems. It is a conservative tune & should I get serious about more H.P. then the proper thing to do is go on a dyno & get it programmed correctly. If someone is including that in their $2,500,00 price I would say its worth it. But if all that is done is a generic re flash than wouldn't the same cautions apply in your case ?

It's nice to read that Kevin does a great job but a contact information for him would help, anybody has one? Remember, not everybody knows him
