My 02 tt X50 is much faster that the 355 i drove, and the 997tt S/C launches much harder than my X50. This is a non-issue. With S/C and a tip, there is almost nothing that can launch in traffic as quickly and consistently as the Porsche. There may be cars that post a faster time in multiple launches, but given real-life conditions, the tt is quicker.
Here is the shocker. I used to own an authentic CanAm Lola T165 (Gary Wilson car from original series). I had it street plated. I think the current tt tip is quicker from a light than that was, due to wheelspin and axle tramp the Lola experienced. Maybe a Veyron could jump it, but not much else.
Over 40-50 mph, it is a different story, as then just pure hp and gearing make all the difference. Obviously, over 100, the Lola would run away. But, that much performance was not usable on the street. The Porsche's power is usable.
Even compared to a Ford GT which pulls very hard at speed, the Porsche is quicker in traffic. In part, this is due to visibility, as the Porsche lets you see what is around you, and the Ford doesn't. I think we are getting to a whole new high in street performance.AS

You guys want to hear something funnier that red 996TT at LACR being talked about happens to be my car. I wasn't driving, my freind was and on that particular pull he took off from second gear. My car is a an 01 TIP. I would love to see that race with my car taking off from 1st gear. I now have K24s but need an exhaust and chip in order to take full advantage of the new turbos.

those 335i guys are on crack. i was cruising my M5 last week and along comes a 335i and gives me the grin. we slowed down to about a 55 roll on the highway and i let him go first. i must have beat him by a good 4 - 5 cars by the time i hit 140 mph, even with the jump. they think they can beat anyone since they have a "twin turbo". this means i would have probably spanked him by 10 cars in my 996TT or 997TT (both modded of course)

If you follow the e90 link at the beggining of this thread my buddy that drove the car wrote an explenation of why it ran 14s. The best pull for the conditions on that particular day was a 13.7 at 107MPH.
