OT-- Best AWD 5 passenger vehicle
With 4 young kids, I'm finding that I rarely have the time to drive my TT because I always have at least 2, usually 3 kids with me. I can only fit one kid in my TT because they're all to young to sit in the front and there's no room behind my seat because I'm too tall (6'4"). So, I am considering trading my 996TT and my X5 4.8is for ONE car that can do it all-- carry three of the four kids AND give me great performance. I probably won't pull the trigger, but am considering it.
So, the question is what's the closest thing to a 996TT (perfomance wise) that can carry 3 kids (or 2 adults) comfortably in the back, has AWD (I need AWD because of snow) and performs well enough to satisfy a former TT owner? Put another way, is there an AWD sedan (or possbly an SUV if it's the Cayenne TT S or ML63) that will get me close to the performace of the 996TT, or should I just keep the two cars that I've got (996TT and X5 4.8is) and be content?
Anyone else ponder this or a similar "dilemma"? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Audi RS4 Avant, but since we don't get them here in the US (if they did I'd buy one tomorrow), I'd say S4 Avant (perhaps the S6 Avant). The Avants are better balanced than the Sedans IMHO.
If you prefer to stay Porsche, then a Cayenne TT.

Audi RS4 is too small for 5 people IMO. I would go with an Audi S6 or a 5 Series BMW.
I swear by my BMW X5, it may be slow as a 12 year old dog but it's bullet proof and great in the snow.

There is no way that driving an SUV can be as much fun as a tt, but the Cayenne is probably the choice for aggressive cornering.
The most overlooked car is the previous series Audi RS6. On the right tires, those are great in snow.
The most fun smaller sedan is the EVO8, tho you have to live with the ricer image. The Subie STI is also really nice, but understeers more.
And, one size down from there, but also a pleasant surprise... the R32 Golf. I think a new one is coming. That would probably allow you to keep the tt for days you are carrying fewer progeny. AS

Audi RS6 -- one of the quickest AWD sedans ever made (12.6 sec quarter-mile). Sell your two cars, buy a used RS6 and put $100K+ in the stock market. Wait until 2008 and get a new RS6 with 570+ HP and put $50K in the market.

If you really need to carry "stuff" the x5 won't do. Its carrying capacity is very small. The Audi options mentioned are good - but having been down this road before, I'd go with the Cayanne Turbo. Eventually, with that many kids, you'll need real carrying space and the Cayanne offers the best mix of capacity, handling and speed compared to your TT.
