Default Value of 01 with 20k miles?

I just missed a flawless arctic silver 01 with 14k miles, full carbon, nav, sport exhaust sold for $61,000. I see many ads for 20k mile cars looking for $69,900 or so. Are people really getting this kind of money or is it the typical thing where people think their car is worth more than it is?

What are near perfect condition 20k mile 6 speeds actually selling for?

You can get CPO'd '02 and '03's for that kind of money.

With reasonably low mileage? I keep hearing that but I can't find them. Every time I find one priced right it turns out to be a tiptronic or bad color (orient red or black).

The 01 that went for $61 was not CPO, just a flawless very well loaded 14k mile car. It kind of set the standard for what I'm expecting to spend.

PHP Code:
It kind of set the standard for what I'm expecting to spend.
I second that.

Also in the market to find the right car at a fair price.

I'd pay more for a CPO'ed car in stock trim with great records... Peace of mind would be worth the extra few K!

I'd also expect to pay around $70K for an 02-03 model CPO'ed with less than 20K miles on it... I paid $71K for my 9K mile 2001 and it was modified.

Here is one for a great price, and has been listed and relisted on craiglist for the past 2 months or so... http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/car/367332118.html I am in no way whatsoever affiliated with this listing. I really was interested in this car, but it is opposite coast, plus the seller comes off a little shady. I tried getting pics and info from him and never heard back. I emailed his assitant numerous times to no avail, and talking to him was an experience in itself. I would love to see if this car is the real deal because someone could get a good deal. Also, at least he finally has pictures posted.

Strange that no phone number is listed on the ad.

That is nothing. Wait until you talk to the guy. Anyhow, here is the number I spoke with him on, 213-926-8431. I am really curious if this is the real deal or not.

I think that $70k for a 02 - 03 CPO is a fair price. But, why are some of the listings on the Porsche CPO so out of control? are these dealers really thinking that they will get that kinda money? Have any of you seen dealers come down from their prices?

Here are some links to a local 3rd party dealership. What do you all think?

If you are interested in a loaded arctic/black CPO (until 2/08) Targa with Carbon and Aero, send me a PM. I "may" be selling mine. I will know within the next few weeks.

They think guys will be idiots, just like the idiots paying premium for New Z06s. It's just not worth it, in my opinion... Wait around for a deal... I may sell mine by spring and buy a full track car, like a 996 Cupcar... Not sure... But I'm under no illusion... With the mods, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for that car with those mods.

Bay Area guys... Carlson has a 2001 slate grey with new tires and just went through the program to get certified and has a factory extended 2 year warranty... A month ago they offered me the car for 63k with the 2yr warranty... they offed it to me when I asked, no haggling just.. " how much do you want for that car "? answer" we will take 61k without waranty and 63k with a 2 year Porsche warranty" ... it is still sitting on their lot as of this past Saturday with about five other used 996tt's. The market is extremely soft on these cars. Every week the over all price average looks to be dropping , to me, signifying a buyers market. I think patience is the word of the day.
