POLL: How much did you pay for 60K mile service and what did it entail? Thanks!
I was quoted ~$1,100 for 60K mile service and ~$500 (4 hours of labor and ~$125 resevoir) for replacing a cracked coolant tank resevoir. It seems to me that there is some double dipping going on with the labor since the motor (I believe) has to come out for the 60K mile service and thus the coolant tank resevoir swap should be a piece of cake at that point, but I'd like to hear what you more well informed folks think about that as well as the cost of the 60K mile service. Thank you in advance for any advice/insight/comments.
P.S.-Recently added a GIAC flash to my K16 996TT and I'm loving every second of it.

How good is your relationship with well respected Porsche specialist? Yes although it can be painful you have to like them working on your car. You sort of have to understand his jokes too...and last but not least, trust he knows how to work on your motor.
He's going to start by changing oil and flushing 2 gallons of coolant, changing filter. Look it over for brakes tires, detail work. Probably doesn't have a hickup.
I have found that if you must take it for service, price starts at $1k.
Thinking about DIY?

Burning Brakes
Not sure why the engine would have to come out for a 60K service. I looked the service schedule over and didn't pick up on anything that would require engine removal? My tech told me that when the coolant reservoir needs to be replaced it's a royal PITA and would likely be a $1K bill involving mostly labor as the part is not that much.

The coolant tank at $125 (below retail) + 4 hours is more than fair to cheap. It is a tough job that took me 7 hours.....but 3rd or 4th time around, 4 hours is straight. The only 2x dip would be 10 minutes for draining the coolant tank. Overall.....you did fine if not cheap. Here in LA a 60k appraoches $2k includes all fluids and filters and plugs. Like one guy said above.....better make sure they did it all for only $1100.

Thanks. The 60K mile services includes oil change, spark plugs, pollen/air filter change, timing belt change, inspection of water pump (which showed it's in fine condition and doesn't need changing), inspection of entire car, etc.
I was under the impression that the motor had to drop for plugs and timing belt and such, but I guess I'm out of my element here.
Thanks again, guys.
