315 Rear Tire Size Work in OE Set-up?

Well I'm going to have to be the decending vote here... I have them on my track wheels (factory turbos) and just found a significant area where the tire corded, and evidence that the tire rubbed the inside of the car pretty badly, which probably accelerated the wear on the inner section of the tire. My car is VERY low, and these were PS Cups. I was driving hard enough in one section where you could hear the tire rub... I've ordered two new 295s... Not gonna risk a cut tire and blow out under max suspension compression. On street tires and a car that isn't driven hard, you'll probably be OK, but if you do cut a tire, you risk a blow out that can remove the rear fender/bumper cover... Guy over on 6speedsonline experienced this...

How much wider in inches would 315 be compared to 295?

My PS2's on stock 11" rims have a 12.5" section width.
