315 Rear Tire Size Work in OE Set-up?

Can a stock suspension and wheel 996T handle the PS2 315's on the rear with NO fender rolling?

I want to go with PS2's:
235/40/18 front
315/30/18 rear

I did a search and read through a lot of posts to get an answer but it was not clear if some of the cars had stock suspensions and wheels...

Any help on this would be appreciated as I would like to order these ASAP.

Yes it can so long as the offsets are good... I'm running 19x12 on my C4S lowered on PSS9s. You'll have even more clearance rolling stock on 18s.

I am also running 315's on my car
-Coilovers - substantially lowered
-Kahn 19's

the guards have not been rolled, and the tyres have never touched them :)

Well, I've ordered the larger tires and have a pretty good feeling that everything is going to work out OK. Thanks for the comments and I'll post my experience so that other can learn from it.

Cheers

search for 993_pilot's wheel and tire fitment calculator. It works great!

tkerrmd 06-19-2007 10:56 PM

they will fit fine.

Beej 06-20-2007 12:41 AM

Yep they should fit fine - my car (bone stock 01 996TT with stock solid twists - 18") - has 315s on the rear and 235s on the front that were fitted by the dealer I purchased the car from prior to sale.

Cheers,

Beej

Yup....it will work with no problem...no fender rolling...no rubbing. I have a PSS9 set up lowered with about one finger clearance and still can fit the exact specs you want.

315x25r should work even with more offset on a 19" rim

It worked but there's only 1/4-3/8" clearance at most between the inner fender liner and the rear of the tire. I think they may rub from time to time...

There was NO issue with the fender and it having to be rolled. It's not even close to being a issue for those considering getting the wider tires. Thanks for the help from those who posted!!

The MPS2's are AWESOME compared to the crappy P-Zero's that came on the car. Grip is better, ride is better, and they are QUIET by comparison! Highly recommend to those considering a tire change!!
