Similar questions have been asked about 'clone' GT3 seats, I think on the 993 forum. The consensus is that they do look good but few on these lists would risk their lives on knock offs that are not ie FIA etc. approved. I thought about getting knock offs but went with real leather poles for my 993tt.

I would think long and hard about using aftermarket GT3 seats for anything other than show. The only time you will depend on the engineering behind genuine seats is the one time you will need them...a crash. Would you use aftermarket seatbelts or airbags? Just a thought. BTW, they can be had online from some Porsche dealers for 2895. Not cheap but worth the extra dollars over aftermarkets of questionable origin....Kevin

Personally, I like to use genuine and OEM parts as much as possible. That being said, the attitude on this forum makes me laugh sometimes - the absolute aversion and downright scorning of anything that is not the absolute most expensive and perfect alternative is excessive. I would venture that a great percentage of the cars running race buckets are not using $2000 Recaros. I can understand the comfort argument, but safety? What are the differences between using a $500 fibreglass shell seat and a $2000 fibreglass shell with some CF bits and beautiful leatherwork in terms of genuine protection? I would use these seats not because the originals were not available, but to save a significant amount of money.
