I think that Ralph took a video > sound clip of what the engine sounded like..

John and Manny, my opinion is that Ralph just drew a short straw. This is not the Norm..

Wow, I can't believe Porsche didn't step up to the plate and help out on this. That's really disappointing considering how few miles were on the car.

Yes you would think they would have helped out at least a little. "Throw me a frickin bone here"

This is not the first time by a long shot though that I've heard that PCNA has given a loyal customer the cold shoulder. They are the most successful car manufacturer right now with the highest of profit margins.

BTW - Kevin thanks for easing my mind on that. You knew my head was spinning

this is why i am a firm believer that these cars need to be driven. even though their is no guarantee that issues will reveal themselves during the first couple thousand miles, chances are higher that they will, especially a manufacturer's defect . imo everyone who purchase these cars will be well advised to take advantage of the warranty and drive their cars as they are meant to be driven.

Slant, I had a bad tiptronic on a Boxster S with 17,000 miles. PPI didn't show it, car had aged out and PCNA said if I SIGNED off on disclosure, they would give me 1K discount on a new P car. I outsmarted somebody and told them to stuff their boner. Bought a Cayenne S a couple months later.
I told off somebody that didn't give a rats a.. one way or another and shorted myself 1K. Probably do it again.

Did your car start off as a GT2. I cant beleive turbo crate engines are that cheap. Why are the GT3 engines sooooo much more. I thought It was the same block!

Tom your motor was destroyed, Ralph's wasn't.. Broken crank doesn't leave many working internal parts..

cpu77,

Where did you find the information that this was a manufacturing defect? I have a GT2 that probably has the same problem. We have already replaced the passenger side chain tensioner since it sounded like this and have now pulled the motor. I am hoping that documentation may help me get the dealer to help out.
