Help pricing 2002 X50 911 Turbo
I've had it up for sale for a few weeks, and I just dropped the price. However, no calls yet. Am I priced OK? I thought I was coming in pretty low.

I thought the extended warranty might help the mileage issue out, but I guess not. What can I say, I've put a few miles on this car Which other venues would you recommend? Were the 996tts on Ebay actually selling? I found that most of them went unsold... thanks for the input!

I can give you my perspective as someone who is looking to buy a car at more or less your price point. I'm actively looking for a 911 (and struggling between 996 TT and 997 S for similar prices) and I think you are probably asking a reasonable price, but not a low one. I've seen several 02s with 30-35k miles going for low 60s some with CPO. Your car has some nice options, but the mileage would rule your car out for me.

Higher milage turbos seem to not hold the value very well in relationship non turbo higher milage Porsches. Once they get passed 50K the depreciation drop off is dramatic. This may be a the result of pre 993 turbos motors that usually needed significant work at 50K. Blue book value on Porsche is not a good indicator of value although it's usually low. I've manage to sell all my used 911-993 (non turbo) at 15% TO 20% higher than blue book. Your price looks fair but there is a glut of normal to high milage 996TT on the market now.

I think a 30K miles car would sell for that money, but the extra 30,000 miles are going to cost you something. Even 25 cents a mile would knock $7,500 off your asking price, and 25 cents is a very low "per mile" cost of driving a tt.
As the owner of an 02X50 with 36,000 miles, I've considered this qustion often. You reach a point where you are better off deciding to drive it more, and stop worrying about resale.
I find the simplest way to think about used car asking price is to say, "If you were considering a new ZO6 for $72,000, what would you pay for this car?" AS

Thanks for the input, looks like I'll just drive the car a little longer and see if it sells. I might be stressing out since I have a baby on the way. But, there's no reason why I can't have both I haven't seen any X50 911tt's as low as mine (I'm sure they exist, probably just harder to find). I think a big problem is that most people don't know or value the X50 option as much as I did.
Jimq - Sounds like you got a great deal! We have similar garages, I have a 2005 Dodge Ram as well...

I think you're really too high given the large number of TTs that are available with lower mileage and the more typical black interior. I looked at a 2002 with 45k miles on it with lots of options and it was priced at $61k.

These prices are pathetic....Gee, so I could trade my 520 hp flawless X50 w/47,000 miles, which runs perfect, and get an e46 M3 in return...straight up trade...yeah sounds like a good deal. Think I'll drive my car for another 150,000 miles...by that time, I'll have to pay someone 60k to take it off my hands.

If 996TT prices have not bottomed out then we're pretty darn close!!!
For $60k, which other car, new or used, even comes close to the driving thrill of a 996TT? None!
I was offered $85k as a trade-in value for my 05 Turbo S (31k miles)...and I said for that price I'd rather crash and burn the darn thing rather than sell it. So now the wife drives it.

Sure, they'll be a few here and there, and some will get luck by finding it at the dealership. However, you'd have to find a dealership that f'&#$ someone on their trade-in. Hopefully, not too many X50 owners are trading in their cars for the 50's
