Arrow 60-130 fun (and Markski's record VIDEO !!)

If you guys follow 6-speed online you know that the Supra Nationals
were last weekend in Houston, Texas. These guys adopted a new performance
catagory in addition to the testosterone filled dyno day as well as the 1/4 mile.
THEY ADDED A 60-130 MPH CONTEST !!!! (YEAH TB AND JEAN !!)

The overall winner was actually a 1100 RWHP Twin Turbo Viper @ 4.6 seconds
(not on street tires obviously).
The second place car was a 940 RWHP Single large Turbo Supra @ 4.9 secs.

An ENZO does it in about 7.0 flat !!

My midwestern buddy, Markski now has the Porsche record at 5.15 with
2 shifts !!!

I will put this in perspective: MY ECU/Exaust 996 Twin Turbo struggled to break
11.0 seconds (my best was 10.96), and this car is no slouch!!

(You may also have heard that against the Porsche Family's wishes, some
new rebels are drag racing these wonderful Sports Cars that we own :

Markski also holds the new official record at 10.11 @ 142.4 MPH (and has
broken several axles in the process!) When he gets his new axles he will
undoubtebly seal the deal with a mid to high 9 second quartermile.

To put this in perspective Marek's car hits 117 MPH by the 1/8 MILE !!!!!,
this is what a stock 996 Turbo will achieve in TWICE THE DISTANCE !!

This is a real testament to the upper limits of this platform and what can be
done, he drives this car daily in the nice summer Chicago weather, WOW !

Video of 10.11 !!

Woodster,

Shouldn't you mention Bill S since the 60-130 idea was originally posted here by him? Of course, you probably know that as you were the second person to post on his thread.

I hope I don't get flamed for posting this - my intent is only to share a vid of my other car. I have a new 996tt that I'll post pix of when I hit the minimum post count. Meanwhile:

BTW, I have a time slip for the Camaro showing 117 in the 18th.

Jeff,
The point is that Camaros of that vintage only go straight (very well I might add).
996TT's on the other hand are very natural cruising in traffic, cruising the autobahn at 180+
and in this case, quite profficient at the quarter mile, evidenced by the fact that it equaled this
killer drag car in the 1/8, and then it really gets going!

And Yes, Bill S. the Ruf guy is the originator and TB and Jean have defended, promoted and
critiqued this excellent form of a performance measurement. Markski has since run a 5.0 flat
and has more to come soon, as axles are being installed as we speak.

Cant wait to get my 60-130's up for my old turbo and new GT2.. My old turbo in a video and being awd did it in 9 something 2 shifts, my GT2 should shatter that, should be interesting

And i cant wait for Mark's car to be situated, this is only the beginning for him!!!!

OMG I missed this... Thanks Marty for the write up...
we were going this past saturday to do the 1/4 but weather did not permit. Also, switching 3 sets of axles messed up our alignment. Im trying to find a way to run it with one shift.... Im topping out at 129.2 mph. not sure I want to take a chance on a rev limiter increase... but we are shooting for 4.6 if we can do that. IF I run a taller tire and or a 19" rim that can also help out....
All in all, that 10.1 run was at 1.32 bars only. we have some left in her. Also, we learned a bit about the car so we know where to improve it. BTW, the car made only 4 1/4 runs total and the slowest run was 10.5 sec.
