Default Just installed the UMW clutch/LWF package!

Wanted to say thanks to Kevin for going above and beyond with his customer service in getting me setup with the new clutch! He was willing to meet up with me late at night on short notice to get me my new setup and was awesome at answering all of my questions! He is very knowledgeable and loves to talk about his work.

The clutch itself was a bit of a chore getting installed. I got some instructions notes from searching the archives that worked out well (PorschePhd's post). Total time it took me was about 10 hours but being the first clutch on a Porsche I think I made good time.

Clutch setup was very well put together, Kevin really did his homework getting the correct parts together to make a great kit. My initial impressions of the clutch is it is very grabby but you will get use to it over time. The feel is great and is about like stock, no increased pushing effort at all. A great benefit of the lightweight flywheel is that the car no revs up very fast and I am sure it frees up a lot of drag (Dual mass is VERY HEAVY. The drawback of the LWF is that it is noisy as Kevin mentioned to me. It is silent until the car warms up to normal operating temps. I did find it quite annoying at first but I think I am getting use to it and the fact that I am usually listening to music it doesn't really bother me too much. I would suggest sitting in a car that has one if you are really concerned about the noise.

Thanks a lot for the great service Kevin! I will be doing more business with you in the future and I highly recommend UMW!

2nd that! This is an excellent clutch package. I too thought it was a bit "grabby" at first. You won't notice it anymore after a few days.

"Grabby" in the sense it's not the stock system. When I first jumped in and drove it for the first time, I felt the clutch engage much quicker than than OEM. It's exactly what I wanted. It was easier to modulate the engagement after a good "spirited" drive and getting used to it a bit. It's a great setup.

I'd call mine "grabby".

But it isn't "grabby" when I launch at something above 1200 rpm or so.

Don, it was great meeting you. The clutch will take a few miles to bed in.
