Question What sawy bars for TT PSS9

I have a 996TT the I track a few times per year. It is equipped with PSS9 coilovers. What would you recommend for upgrades for sway bars?

Just the rear?
Both Front and rear?
I've read recommendations for using the GT3 rear. If so, what drop links are required?

Thanks,

I think with all the innate understeer dialed in in these cars adding the rear sway helps convert more to neutral close to oversteer.
I think the rear is all that is really needed especially if you track rarely.
the GT3 is OEM and hollow. Although not as big a diameter as the H+R's this is the one I and many use.
H+R's are ok and are beefier but no real advantage. also the GT3 bar is cheaper than the H+R's

Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the GT3 rear bar with adjustable drop links from TRG yesterday.

Cheers,

The GT3 bar can only use the two loosest settings with 996tt. On the stiffer settings the bar hits the drivers side lower control arm. A better choice is the HR bar.

h&r's were built for an awd turbo, not a 2wd gt3.

So the H&R has adjustable end links as well?

I had the GT3 bar installed with TRG's adjustable drop links. Although I haven't got under and looked, I don't think I have any interference. I'll look for signs of it the next time I have the rear tires off to bleed the brakes. Thanks for the tip!

How about H&R sway with agency power endlinks?

dont worry you will never need to adjust any tighter than the first and second adjustments. unless you want to dial in more understeer, which I doubt you will.

Oak,

The GT3 bar that I have as 4 adjustment locations. I asked the shop to set the bar at the second stiffest hole. My understanding is that to reduce understeer you would need to either soften the front (which cannot be accomplished on the non adjustable TT OEM bar), or stiffen the rear.

Effect of Sway Bars on Understeer

I am approaching this by stiffening the rear. Are you indicating that I may have gone too stiff?

Thanks,

for my personal preference, I choose to go full loose or second in depending on where I would be driving. to dial out the understeer I went with the GT3 sways, being a hollow type of construction they take much less torsional effort to be more compliant. even though the adjustment locations snf drop link are close to the stock location. this along with -1.5 neg front camber and -2.0 rear camber will transform the handling of your turbo tremendously.
