Default UMW Stage 3 VS 997TT

As with the posting of the airbox thread showing some of the hardware that is going into my Stage 3 tuning kit. Here is a video that was made this past weekend showing the two cars in action.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...33189283&hl=en

My understanding was that they were starting at 60mph rollons..

BTW the Ruf was running on the lowest pump gas/low boost file..

Just to put in to a real world perspective of this vehicles performance there are a few items to consider. This car was running low boost, and the 7.42 sec run was not performed the way most of us achieve our numbers. He did a 60mph start where almost all the posted numbers are a run thru of the 60-130 interval. If he started at say 40mph and went WOT thru 60mph until 130 obviously the time would be much lower. To compare what these numbers mean consider my current setup of Kevin's STG2 ZC kit. It has run numerous gps and track timeslips with a best of 7.93sec 60-130, 11.5 at 128.2, and laid down 512AWHP/565AWTQ on a Mustang AWD dyno. My numbers were posted running 1.25 bar. This STG3 ZC car would leave me, an 11.5 at 128mph car!, well over 100+ feet behind in the span of a 7.5 sec 60-130 run.... at only 1 bar Clearly if this car was at full boost and running thru the 60-130 it would leave my car nearly 200ft behind I would think ...but thats a good thing since I am upgrading to the same kit I am sure more will be posted about these amazing new turbos from UMW, but it is safe to say that Kevin has broken new ground ...again..with STG3. Much of the old thinking that you need to give up low end tq and throttle response to achieve big power high in the rpm band will be dispelled in the coming weeks and months as more info becomes available... Great work Kevin.... Kevin

As much as I love these cars, you guys and going fast, that was a stupid video. Do it right at the right place or dont do it!
Kevin, I usually respect everything you do and dont want to sound like someones father or an old fart, just cant help anticipating what was changing lanes in front of that semi as the car approached speed?
Please I want no flaming bull**** comebacks from the less mature, just my 2 cents sorry.

Tom, I respect what you have written. However, I was not there. This was posted on Sunday on 6Speed and in the thoughts that some of you guys would like to see it, hence the posting here on Rennlist.

my post was nothing personal and as you both know I admire and respect you both for what you have done with these cars, many of which I also plan to do, just didnt like the wreckless highway driving which didnt show anything.
put data recorders in the car and show us that at least it would be objective.
Happy New Year

Tom, they had an AX22 in the car. That is how they produced a 7.42 sec 60-130 run... As you may well know, all my times are done at the dragstrip or a roadcourse, although on the RARE occasion I have gone too fast as well. Be good, Kevin

Kevin (KPG) - have you recorded a 60-130 run from a 60 mph steady state so we can interprut the info here in context? Would have been nice to have some meaningful data to report on the release of this package.

Mike, no I havent. Basically when Scott posted the 60-130 thread there was some argument as to how to do the run since there can be 1,2 and 3 shift runs, all of which substantially affect the times. Some thought it should be done from a 60 mph roll, but that would be hard to police. We agreed that fastest time should stand, regardless of how it was accomplished with shifts and starting speeds. My old setup worked well with 1 shift since it had loads of tq and it could overcome the gearing of a 3rd gear start at 40mph... Needless to say my best run was started at a 40MPH roll and run full bore thru the 60mph threshold and the best was a 7.93 with 1.25bar.... Silver Surfer did his number starting at 60mph and with low boost( 1bar) as well... I can only guess what my time using his method would produce, but I think it would be high 8's at best. Kevin

Meaningful data? It would leave an 11.5 at 128 mph car about 200 feet behind if it ran at full boost during a 7.5 sec 60-130 run....

Kevin please inform me of what is included in the kit and what the dyno numbers are. Ben was very secreative about this information and said I should get the info from the horse's mouth! It has been my experience that when tuners sell these packages they want the most amount of advertisement as possible so buyers can be attracted to there products, unless these are one off customs?
