We will leave that to the pilots... Your 777 needs a 60-130 time. Kevin

I can get those numbers; however we don't use full power on most takeoffs...it's not normally required, burns too much fuel, and produces higher combustion temperatures (impacts engine wear). So we use derated power based on weight, temperature, altitude, runway condition, and runway slope, among other things.

Are you even allowed a full throttle takeoff or does the FMC require a derate. I love flying and like that push in the seat when the pilot puts the throttles down...must be quite the experience up front. Kevin

The Captain is always allowed to use full takeoff power if he chooses to - the full power performance numbers and associated reference airspeeds are always included in out paperwork.

do a run forth and back and take the average time. That factors in slope and wind.

I wish it were that easy. Speaking from my personal experience, I was on a public road with fairly moderate traffic. The conditions regarding traffic and the law are the most difficult, after that it's all good. Getting to that point can be a nightmare. You have to look for a road that is straight and flat and then wait for traffic to clear for a least a mile ahead. Of course, the law is always in the back of your mind, your concentration is not solely on acceleration, there are many variables.

It is becoming very difficult to find "safe" locations to do this.

I am constantly scouting out the best place for a run (I drive alot during the day in
one of a couple other vehicles). Ideal is out in the middle of nowhere or
freeway with center concrete divider and 2 miles between exits-not easy to find.
I would never under any circumstances pass someone (going my way or the other),
to do a run. My runs are "lone" adventures and you can reduce risk by planning
(time and area).

I'll run a stopwatch next time I'm out and get back to you.
