Anyone else enjoy driving in the rain?
It's monsoon season here in the PNW and I've been spending a bit of time with the 996TT out in the countryside.
Late last night, the wife and I took a night run up the Columbia Gorge. The old highway was littered with wet leaves and the rain was coming down. What a fantastic car the 996TT is. Effortless power...not a slip on any of the slick stuff. The thing just feels like it's on rails regardless of the weather.
On the way home we had a moment to accellerate...140mph came up quick on the long flat straight, and the car was smooth as silk.
As you all might guess, I love my car. I bought it to drive, and unless it's snowing or freezing rain, I'm going to drive it.
BTW...this is my first post here. Greetings to all from a Porsche junkie.

Welcome to the board,
On the contrair, my bitch is a garage queen during the raining season, and a street hooker during the summer... :-) where is CA is about 10 months out of the year....

I too drive my car in 4 seasons. You might want a track day in the rain to experience the car's limits in extreme conditions. The psm will save you if you overcook into a corner, but you won't be able to get oversteer with throttle. If you go in slower to come out harder, you will get lots of sudden power interruptions, so it will be hard to amaze your friends. AS

These cars are really amazing in their all-purpose/all-weather abilities. I drove out to CA this summer in some very heavy rain, through the Rockies....and all the way into Utah...it was a downpour....I fely absolutely bulletproof at 120 mph....I was running brand new Bridgestones S0-2's so that really helped....what a machine. Good tires are critical....If your rears are worn down it could get a little scary.
