Default Supersprint on a 996TT: any try it??

I had the headers/exhaust on my '95 M3 (back in '97), wonderful (incredible) sound. Just curious...

The ones who have swear by them! Actually Techart went to Supersprint to do their 996 Turbo exhausts so if you buy the super expensive Techart units you'll be buying rebranded Supersprints. Beware of their 2 different sound levels Sport and Race they say Race are too loud.

If all you care about is sound, whatever, but for anything but highly modified
motors, the likelihood that you lose power with aftermarket headers is
pretty high. The stock ones are double-walled for insulation, and are
very short so they minimize losses between head and turbo. So if you want
more/different noise, I'd suggest swapping exhaust only and leaving the headers
as-is. Europipe stage II (quiet or load) added the most power under the curve.

I have owned installed-sold the Supersprint. It is a very nice system and sound great. SuperSprint is manufactured in two forms.. a 60mm system and the TechArt 70mm version.. IF you plan on upgradding turbochargers and HP go with the 70mm.. But once you see the price, you might as well by a Europipe.. It is already 70mm the quality is top notch and it sounds awesome.. Europipe Stage 2 quiet or loud is $4,100 shipping, duty, and tips are extra..

Edit, like Joe said you can't beat the factory headers up to 750HP.. I have a DIY posted here on Rennlist.. Go look at it..

i plan on doing upgraded turbos, ECU, BOV's, & exhaust: just trying to research what exhaust I want. Since my wife will be driving this more than I, It's important to have the best sounding exhaust on there as she's not nearly as concerned with power as I am.

Thanks Kevin, I've been following your followers: top quality!

Then the one choice is obvious (I chose mine with my family in mind),
Europipe2quiet: the sound is just spectacular.

I agree with Marty here (I wonder why)...you just seldom, if ever find a Europipe customer that isn't happy...not only right after install, but after years of use...they get better and better with age.

Wross,
BTW, I installed my EP2 Quiet recently, and like you said..."best mod ever"
the sound is as good as it gets for a 996TT (this is not a V-12 F-car remember)

Marty, you dumped the PSI system? Didn't you have the PSI quiet?

Yes,

PSI quiet was too Loud, It is a well constructed system and actually looks more like a
Europipe than any of the others. My wife and (2) daughters thought it was too loud.
I got lots of compliments about the system's sound at the track. I needed something
quieter but having performance upside (beyond my little K-16's), and something that
sounds good. I must say the Europipe sounds better than either PSI system, LuisSr's
GT2 with Fabspeed (almost awful), and buddy's milltek, and buddy's new generation
Tubi (not bad). I went to lunch today with stereo (fm radio) on #4 volume (low) and
could not produce any perceptible rezz, NONE. this exhaust is the real deal and I now
understand why Kevin (Ultimate Moterwerks) would become a distributor of these.
Sharkey told me the same thing, unbeatable product.
Fellow rennlister bought PSI quiet and based on discussions, I am sure he will like it.
