Yes - that is the correct part number. Just installed one in my '03 TT two weeks ago. Caution: it's a real PITA as a DIY project!!

Jeff - did your car come with the rear parcel turbo logo from factory?? My 01 wihtout the BOse had it but my 03 with the Bose does not. I was worried about drilling through the sub box but if factory did it then it should not be a problem.
Let me know, thanx

No, it did not come w/ the car. I installed it w/o drilling into the Bose unit using double sided tape. I seems to be holding up well and is reversible if I ever want to remove the insignia.

Jeff, did you remove the rear seat by yourself? If so, how hard is it? Any special advice?

Thanks!

Jeff,

Looks great. Like Pierre asked, any special advice for a diy project?
Also,to my knowledge you have to reset the some sort of sensors right? <img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" />

Removal of the rears seats in a relatively easy task - 30-45 minutes if you have some mechanical aptitude. Send me a PM if you need futher info (j993@aol.com).

The bar itself is a real pain in the ***. The bar does not perfectly line up with the mounting locations (others have had similar issues). It was a real struggle getting it to line up and then bolting the thing in. Figure on at least 4-5 hours IF everything goes according to plan. You must remove the front and rears seats as well as loosen the rear view mirror. Then insert bar into cockpit on its side, rotate into position and then the fun begins (bolting it in)! There is also a hard plastic trim piece located near the lower front seat belt mounting point that must be removed or reshaped to get the bar to fit/mount at the its lower mounting points.

It took me a good 8 hours (w/ a helper which is essential) of diligent work start to finish to get it done. I would not do by myself again.

As for warning lights - the only issue I can think of is the risk of triggering the airbag warning light because you must remove the front seats. If you are careful (i.e. disconnect battery, make sure your key is not left in the ignition, and reconnect all wiring properly) it should not be a problem.

Hope this helps.

Just keep the key out of the ignition.

Jeff, thanks for the description and for your PM.

I already have the rollbar installed, but the mechanics left the rear seats in place. Is it still possible to remove them without too much hassle?

Greetings,
--Pierre
