and you didn't say that you couldn't use the 996TT as a daily driver in another thread, even though your statement to that effect was only about 7 posts above your denial? LOL!!

Look, no offense but you need to stop the drugs. Or concentrate better. When you first came on the forums I seem to remember you were looking to lease a 996 or something but was too young/dumb for credit and then after 3 days you are driving a 996TT for cash......

Well, a teacher I had bought a 2002 Ford Focus. It was a lemon and was swapped for a new one. The new one has been in and out of the shop for the last three months.

Ford makes 1000 of these things for every Porsche, and yet the reliability is better on the Porsche?

For cars in general (even Honda Accords), it seems Porsche's do pretty darn well! Anyway, hanging out at the dealer is fun, right? Especially if you get a cool loaner

We carpool so we only use the sport ute, so the pitch about driving in snow was just to satisfy my wifes need for a backup car that we can use just in case.

There you go. "It must be great in the snow. It's got all-wheel drive!"

Gilly,
Do what makes you happy, it is your money!

I think we all agree that Porsche has a solid reliability track record...I do however accept that every so often there is always ONE sufferer.

Sorry for being the test bench Gilly.

topdaytrader,
defend yourself - no need to impress. If it is leased, just own up. If it is cash paid just be consistant.

I went on another test drive and brought along a few of my friends for unbiased opinions. Lets just say that one hyperventilated and the others couldn't get the smiles off their faces with a crowbar. It is one hell of a fun car but I have this feeling that my license will be revoked soon. Everytime I got out of the car, it felt like I had just gotten out of a roller coaster. I needed a cigarette afterwards 'cause its the most fun I've had with my clothes on. I would have to rank it right there with the Ferrari 360 spider in fun factor.

I took my wife for a ride and all she did was complain about how small the back seats were. &lt;in a high piched whiney voice "The seats are too small and why do you need a fast car for"&gt; You have to know my wife, she loves to bust my butt especially when it comes to my cars. Anyone want to trade for a wife that shares the same passion for cars?

Later that night I did get her to admit that it was a nice car, now I just need to find a baby seat that will fit in the back.

The tt I drove only had one fault - the brakes squeaked pretty loudly. Is this normal?

I am partial to the black but my wife likes the silver. I don't care just as long as we get one. Anyone looking for a Ferrari 348?

Gilly,

Try the "Porsche Convertible" child seat made by Britax for Porsche. It fits great on the front seat, and deactivates the air bag. I used this same seat in the back of my 993tt, and I imagine that it would fit in the back of a 996tt. The nice thing is that the anchor for the teather is built in our 996tts (had to slightly modify the 993tt to work) My daugther loves the seat!

As far as the wife thing....my wife is extremely generous and lets me get away with my car addiction (favorite car is her '59 Black/Red 356 convertible D). It helps to be married to a fellow Porsche enthusiast.

The 996TT is a great car, but it's not as much fun as a 360, IMHO. <img src="graemlins/oops.gif" border="0" alt="[oops]" />

Jack,

I don't think you will require the suit. Who's going to argue with that?
