Post Vibration in clutch for above 3500 RPM shifts

Has anyone experienced vibration in the clutch pedal for shifts above 3500 RPM? Below 3500 RPM has no vibration.

This is in a 2002 996TT.

Any thoughts?

Could be your motor mounts as well (that sometimes causes it).Clutch cover-to-flywheel bolts might not be torqued properly or some other flywheel issue.

If you can take a hard turn and the vibration goes away, then it might be your motor mounts. Someone else might need to give more expert opinions as I don't know the Turbo's driveline very well as of yet.

I was just making general guesses.

I am correct in assuming that this vibration is not normal?

Yes, I have in my 02 TT. I'm going to make an appt for my dealer to look at it more closely. It feels like a high-frequency vibration as I push down on the clutch pedal. I think I started noticing it after I had about 3000 miles on it.

Ray G....sounds like we have the same problem.

Is there anyone else with this?

Or anyone that definitely doesn't have it?

Thanks!

I'm also wondering about these two service bulletins I saw on alldata.com:

1/02 JUN 02 M/T - Clutch Release Bearing Guide Tube Bolt Update
1/02 JUN 02 M/T - Clutch Throw-Out Bearing Guide Screw Replacement

I'm going to ask my service dealer about them.

I'll do the same and post when I learn something.

My 02TT is also Arctic Silver/Black (actually the really dark gray interior).

I talked to my service guy today. He checked my VIN against the above 2 service bulletins and said my car should have already had those running upgrades. So, in theory, these TSBs are not related to the problem.

I have the same problem. They say it's normal but I don't think so. They say it's the double mass flywheel.

Ray G,

I asked my dealer about those two clutch parts, the mechanic checked and Porsche just wants them to use these if the old parts were removed while performing a service.

it's not the clutch, it's the transmision, I've changed the oil and cleaned the transmission, now is all right.

Yes by the dealer. He has cleaned the transmition and replaced the oil. I think the problem is that during the break in the oil has become dirty and has caused problems to the tranny. Now it's really perfect.
It was a real headache to understand what's the problem, really and finally it was very simple (after 6 months).
Think about it.

Sorry for my english.
