I had a yellow 996 Carrera 4 coupe with aerokit in SPeed Yellow a few years back complete with yellow stitching, sport seat backs, center console, seat belts, etc..... That car used to turn more heads than my current TT!! (problem is that it attracts cops too!!).
Yellow is a very flashy color and if you do not like the extra attention - STAY AWAY!!
I agree with Jared in that Black (and Lapis blue) hide details like the front splitters and side intakes and are so not that great on 996TT or GT2. I saw a red one at the showroom here and thought it was cool (although generally I hate red cars - even on a Ferrari - Id take yellow over red any day!).

I've had a few friends buy yellow cars, and most get sick of it real quick. It's a very bright color and sticks out like a soar thumb.

dario,
thank you. i'm likely to go 02 as the values are better, altho' 03's are going 15 back of window which is their 10k profit plus all of the 5k holdback the factory is giving them..

I have heard that yellow works well for a real track car. It is visible to the other drivers. It stands out from the background and from other cars well.

Also I have heard that it photographs well.

Both of these from Kim Baker who used to race yellow corvettes in the old Escort Endurance series (and whose team won EVERY race in that series between 1985 and 1987 where it rained). Cars actually driven by the Archer brothers I think.

Otherwise my personal opinion would be to avoid yellow.
