I agree with Christer. My bone stock car feels quite stable at 180+. I think sphincter tone may generate extra down force though ;-)

Pratt, I've driven a 996tt that was also very floaty at that speed. Felt fine at 100, but got pretty bad at 120 and was a real handful just a few mph over that.

That is the weirdest thing I have ever heard. In fact my car got settles down 120 and above but I have only taken it to 160 so who is to say? From about 90 to 110 though it wanders a bit because of my zero toe setting.

oh also I didn't experience any lift at all. I have drive over 190 quite a few times in many vehicles and it was quite comfortable with the windows down and sunroof open and one hand.

First try raising the rear tire pressure, that may help. I believe one of the reasons Porsche recommends 44 psi rear is to help high speed stability. It's free. You want to reduce front lift. Lowering the front of the car will help, either lower the suspension or put on a deeper spoiler. You don't want to lower it so much that the suspension bottoms excessively though. Front shocks with stiffer rebound will help keep the front down. If you change the suspension use a setup with Bilstein monotube shocks, their bigger pistons work better at high speeds, yet they are relatively softer at low speeds.

hey blessing you are a moron. go check my site I took some pics. Why do you try to talk to me like that with a c4s? If you had a turbo then maybe I could understand, but I have driven a Mclaren so have fun. Why the hell would I try and cruize for chicks at such speeds is beyond me. First of all I take the time and go out to the farms where it is safe furthermore how would you try and impress women at that speed. You are indeed a moron.

Bottom line is that the car should be rock-solid as standard. No lowering and all the other crap above is needed. If you as a first option want to spend money to fix a problem that shouldn't be there that's up to you.

By the way I do like cohibas of course, real not dominicans you can get them from Spain. I stopped smoking though as my hobby became a habit of two cigars a day a while back. I guess I was harsh but just got back from some clubs so ya know. I guess I offended another c4s owner while doing so eh? I don't take any medication, Basalt, thank you for your concern.

Oh, also my main concern in the former comment was for safety while having fun

my dad has a ton of cubans, even ones that are specially made for Castro he got from his dealer. But still my favorite are Excalibur # 2's. They are just such a smooth cigar.

my dad is probably like you DB, he probably has close to 1,000 cuban and other exotics but never really smokes them.

doug,

your comment was superbly couched in the kings sarcasm, couldn't have done better myself, nor could hamman!

sean,

don't be irritated, as long as you didn't open the sunroof above 150, we're ok.... and we're here to amuse ourselves!!!!!

strangley enough I had it open before and during with the windows down. 160 first run 150 second. I didn't think much of it at the time. Just felt like a drive.

I went with the Euro sports suspension (RoW M030) and this improved matters a little, but not enough. I had an E28 & E34 M5s that felt a lot better at 160 than my C2 does now.

I also had a e34 m5 also with mods and took it to 170 and it felt maybe a little better but about the same. My shocks are wasted on the 996 though and it's stock for the most part.
