Damn! You beat me to it! Love the car Dave! It is very cool! Did you say you put the white rims on it? Post pics of the car with the new rims.
That was the other color scheme I contemplated. I deliberated for a while before making up my mind on the silver. I need to find a good window tint shop in the central NJ area. Anybody know of any? I also authorized the aerokit install today. I am told it should be ready this Friday for pickup. We will see.

That is what they told me, "it will be ready on Friday" when I went to pick up the car also. The dealership has the guys that put on the bonnet stripes and I was told by my dealer they also put on window tints. The guys are from a independent shop so they are contracted out by the dealer. You could always ask how much it would be. Can't wait to see your car and read about the John Works kit. I am still debating on gitting it or going the aftermarket route.

David,
I think it may be a good time estiamte. I have my fingers crossed. I am holding off on the JCW kit for now. Aerokit, wheels, seats, lowering springs and then maybe, just maybe, the JCW kit.

Well, the car is in and after authorizing the Aero-Kit on Monday and waiting until today for it to be installed, I received a telephone call about a change in the kit. Apparently the kit no longer comes with black trim. The entire front and rear bumper covers and side skirts are supposed to be painted to match the body color. This was brought to the table after the dealer and I decided to direct the bodyshop not to paint the black wheel arches to match the body color. Do you think the bodyshop would raise the flag and say, um, Mr. Dealer the kit is different and the wheel arches require painting? Nope. They just blindly did what they were told and delivered the car to the dealer.
This was the original intent:
Here is the awful result:
After my dealer read them the riot act, we had to decide to either paint the arches to match the body or paint black trim stripes on the bumper covers to match the arches. Considering thr arches are plastic with the associated texture and their inability to match a painted black stripe, we decided to paint the arches to match the body color.
I expect this as a result:
Opinions anyone?

That sucks. I really prefer the look of the "original intent" as the all-black creates the illusion of larger wheels. I assume you made your dealer check with other dealers for the "older" aero kit w/ the black wheel arch portions.

mjc,
When I heard about this, I initially thought the same thing but I have actually always liked the body-color-matched wheel arches from the start so it has actually worked out for the better. I have 4 brand new 18" wheels, like on the original post's red car photo, waiting in my garage. They are 18's so I don't think it will be an issue with regard to "apparent" wheel size.

mjc,
I am still not sure if I will or not. Many of the aftermarket kits are getting the same horsepower. There is actually a kit that is almost ready for sale that will deliver 240hp.

I sold my Mini to a friend a few months ago, but am considering another. I'm a bit worried about going much higher HP with a front wheel drive car. My gut tells me around 240 - 250 hp might be about perfect.
