All my business on the East coast has been thru
INSKIP in Rhode Island. No issues except that my favorite salesperson moved. She was awesome.
Herb Chambers: Bad Juju.

"noticed it lacked a naviation system" ????
No offense, you don't NOTICE that kind of thing in your new $135,000.00 sports car!!! Many people would flip out if they 'noticed' the color or the leather was slightly off or there was a scratch on the carbon fiber. How would you feel if your new car came missing parts or with the wrong parts?!?!?

My point exactly...this mis-order wasn't just 'slight' and they wanted to keep my deposit money and refused to even speak with me until I started this thread

Let the power of Rennlist Forums and Consumer advocates be known. I have my deposit after a two month fight.

Did you press for some recovery of the sales tax credit from your trade that you would have gotten had you purchased a car from Chambers? Your opportunity cost and aggravation have been significant. As a Boston customer (though never of Chambers), the conduct of Chambers in this transaction has been very instructive. Dealers should pay particular attention to their customers in this or stronger demand markets, especially at high price points. Rennlist has gained some serious traction on this matter in a balanced and open approach.

I read with disgust the runaround this Dealer gave JesseJames & especially that someone from this dealership would respond in this forum without declaring his interst. This Dealer is repulsive! Who needs this type of hassle - I agree this must be the Owner's son or someone who didn't make any real $ himself, 'cause if he had he'd have learned the "Golden Rule" of business: "The Man with the Gold makes the Rule"!!
Real pleased to see a somewhat happy ending for JesseJames. Hope PCNA is reading this!

Thank you for your comment. George Chambers did in fact respond (which is obvious) after I goaded him to do so.
It is not over, George.
There is $3,625 in sales tax credit money that you cost me. I want it.
I will give Chambers a reasonable amount of time to respond before I retain a contingency attorney who will go for punitive damages as well. I have the time.
Herb, your son screwed up. You want this to end?...just contact me BEFORE I retain an attorney. $3625 plus punitive damages may amount to a bundle which I know your immense wealth can handle but, the ensueing bad press is something you may want to avoid. $3625 to me and it's over, and you will show good faith.
Your call.

I'll confirm one lost sale due to this thread and other stories just like it. I live a stones throw from Chambers but very recently opted to go all the way to Inskip in RI to buy my new 996TT. And the service I've gotten from them has been nothing but top notch.
I wouldn't buy valve stem caps from Chambers...

Ira on the north shore or Inskip....only way to go. Unless of course, Herb comes out of the ether and cans Sonny Boy George.

Update:
Thanks to Boston's NBC affiliate Channel 7 Consumer reporter Hank Phillipe-Ryan I got my deposit back and bought a Garmin portable GPS SPIII for use until my new car comes in.
George Chambers is a piece of work. His bad business practice at best or having no regard for Massachusetts law at worst have cost him the loss of three sales of new Porsches so far.
Happy Holidays all.
