Default 1.0 Bar at 90% gas / .9 Bar at 100% gas ???

Before I ask my question this is the background. I was having some problems with my car sputtering followed by rough acceleration. I figured I needed to replace the spark plugs since I have the GIAC tune and 24K miles on my car. While calling around getting quotes some of the service people told me that it sounded like an MAF problem and not a spark plug issue. So I cleaned the MAF and this fixed almost everything issue I was having. The issue I still have now is that when I press the gas peddle down about 90% the car will hit 1.0 bar all day long. When I press the gas down 100% of the way it only hits 0.9 bars all day long. Could this be a spark plug issue? Before it started running differently it would hit 1.0 - 1.2 Bar with the gas peddle at 100%.

If I press the gas peddle down with light pressure then it stops at about 90% almost as if that is as far as it will go. If I press a little harder it will go another 10 or 15% this is when it goes from 1.0 bar to .9 bar.

Anybody with any input would be great.

X50 car or non-X50.. 1.2 bars on a non X50 is not good.. You are spinning K16 to the moon..

With the temps in Soouthern Cal you most likely will have timing and boost pulled.. Hence your .9bar..

If your car is a '01 I'd consider a plug change anyway..

I had that same problem except in the dead of winter. New plugs fixed it.

Is your car a 2001 (with original colder #5 plugs?)

either way get new plugs: $500 (get the #6 "hotter" plugs)

it should run well then,

Mk

Fixed with new Bosch FR6 plugs. Between the plugs, GIAC tune, and cleaning my MAF my car is running awesome now.

boost is a measure of restriction, so restricting the flow by not fuly opening the throttle could casue a higher boost reading.............but at 24k on a giac tune plugs wont hurt ya

Quick Reply: 1.0 Bar at 90% gas / .9 Bar at 100% gas ???
