I have the PSS9 suspension setup, and I bought it from Gert. The setup is fantastic (on the track and on the street). There may not be as much feedback on the PSS9s, becuase they only recently came out in production. Gert shipped me the first 10, so there are at least 9 other people out there with this setup! By the way, you will oonly find good comments on Gert when searching the archives. He has outstanding service, and the best prices anywhere.
Cheers,

I had the R.O.W. springs put on last fall the day before I put the car away for the winter. Our first auto cross of the year is this coming weekend so I haven't had the opportunity to see if there is any difference in handling. Should I expect to feel any difference?

I agree RUF knows Turbos like no one else, but more on the engine tuning side of the car. And I think they're great on suspension tuning for high speed European driving. But do you think they are world class on suspension tuning for road courses?
How do their cars do on the Ring?

We just got word from Bilstein earlier this week that the PSS9 kit for the 996 C4 and Turbo (p/n GM5-8847-H0) is now available through the standard Bilstein distribution network. Our sale price on the kit is $1799. I'm glad to hear the feedback on the 996 turbo kit is as good as we have experienced with the PSS9 kit on our E46 M3 here.
EDIT: This kit is for the Boxter and Boxter S, see post on 04/30/03 at 17:16 <img border="0" alt="[icon501]" title="" src="graemlins/icon501.gif" />

The shocks are available, and will usually ship within 2 business days. They are currently available only in California and our online shipping calculator is based on them shipping from Connecticut, so the shipping charges and times will be recalculated accordingly.

Basically, since the shocks are adjustable, you will probably find that the shock settings that you end up with will probably be different on the C4, C4S, and the Turbo. Bilstein has determined that the corner weights and load characteristics are close enough to the same where the same kit can be used for all the cars. There is a seperate PSS9 kit (not yet available) for the 996 C2 which is definitely different enough both in the weight distribution and overall handling characteristics to justify different valving and spring rates than the C4 and Turbo. However, if there is still a problem that is no correctable by adjusting the shock settings, the springs have a 60mm ID and can be changed relatively inexpensively, and the shocks can be revalved by Bilstein. There are Bilstein packages for other cars that have a wider range of applications than the difference between the standard 996 C4 and the 996 TT.

I placed my order with Allshocks this morning, but after calling Bilstein USA, I have learned that the proper U.S. spec PSS9 has in fact not been shipped. I have also heard further concerns that the version on their website is not specifically for the TT. It appears that indeed what they carry on the website may not be the correct version for the Turbo.
Does anyone (GERT) know the proper Bilstein part number for the Eurospec PSS9 for the 996TT?

Correct, I just got word that Bilstein has changed the part numbers since they originally gave me in February, but didn't bother to tell me, so here's my attempt to clean up the mess I've made:
The kit that is available is for the Boxter
There are two separate kits for the C4/C4S and Turbo that have not yet been released
There is a fourth kit for the 996 C2 that has not yet been released.
I apologize for the confusion this has created.

Hi kfoote,
Ummm - I'm going to post this publicly - and I promise to be "gentle" (which is counter-intuitive for me.. No - really - it is... )
Rennlist survives only through Private Memberships and paying Commercial Rennlist Sponsors, who help offset the somewhat significant monthly financial burden of this site. As well - in the TOS/Charter/Privacy documents (the ones you were suppossed to read before posting ) - there are some simple guidelines regarding "commercial postings".
However - usually posts such as yours above trigger several dozen "Report Post" messages to my ADMIN account, but so far - there are only 15-20 individuals who have brought this thread to my attention using that icon. So please read the documents and adjust your SIG and understand Commercial Sponsors pay for the right to post commercial "buys". And yes - I am protective of their rights - for without them, Rennlist wouldn't be here to "post to". I'm sure you can appreciate that....
Thanks for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at admin@rennlist.com or johnd@rennlist.com
