Picture time
It is time to have a picture posting party so please post pictures of you beloved cars. I took some recent pictures of my S600 and Turbo S the other day.

NOT A TURBO BUT STILL BOOSTED
I'm not a TT, but I'm Vortech supercharged. Since turbos and superchargers are both forms of supercharging, I hope you guys don't mind my intrusion. The supercharger in the narrow body 996 is a blast, and I have one of the last non-Egas cars.

SORRY FOR THE LENGTHY RESPONSE & THREAD JACKING. I SHOULD MOVE THIS TO ANOTHER THREAD
I want to preface the following with the caveat that I know every dyno is different and numbers will vary from machine to machine and day to day based on myriad factors including environment, dyno brand/model, setup and calibration.
EVOMS claims 420 hp and 325 tq. both at the crank for the 996SC. I assume a 17% line loss to arrive at an expected 350rwhp and 270rwtq, which is also what EVOMS dyno runs show for their marketing materials. I haven't run my car on a recently calibrated dyno with proper setup (i.e. proper fan placement, air volumes, etc.), but I hope to soon.
However, about a month ago, just for fun AND because the guy with the new (5,000 miles) Mexico Blue 997S with EVOMS S/C (he has the 3.8L and I have the 3.4L) was there at the same shop at the same time, we put my car and the 997SSC on a local shop's Mustang dyno. The dyno we were on hasn't been calibrated and we only used one small fan at the front of the cars on a 95 deg. day with high humidity and it showed.
My numbers were 276.7rwhp @ 6500rpm and 239.5rwtq @ 5500rpm. The 997SSC put up 317rwhp @ I don't know rpm and I forgot what his TQ reading was, but the 997SSC owner had just received his car back from Imagine Automotive in Kansas City and EVOMS in Phoenix, where it had posted nearly identical runs at both shops of 452rwhp and 325rwtq. I tend to believe the 997SSC was more properly tested at IA and EVO, since it had two similar readings from two different professional shops, thus I think his 452rwhp and 325rwtq numbers are valid.
Unfortunately, I don't believe there exists any valid way to find out what the numbers should have been on my car since one cannot assume equal line loss between a 996 and a 997S. With that being said, a 135rwhp shortage by the local dyno on the 997SSC coupled that a bone stock 996 (that I can and have easily outrun) puts out around 250rwhp leads me to believe I'm putting out considerably more than 276rwhp. So I guess I will just have to trust EVOMS's advertised numbers until I can put the car on a trustworthy dyno and run it back to back against a TT. Man, I can't wait, I know I'll lose, but it shouldn't be by much and I get my boost quicker with less gross vehicle weight.
My car has 86,000 miles on it, so I expect it to put out a little less than a "fresh engine". However, GMG Racing recently ran a cylinder leakdown test on my car and it revealed the engine is still in good shape with 7% to 9% across all cylinders, I've heard new factory engines run 3% to 5%.
Speaking of weight, on a trip back from Dallas, TX July 11th, I pulled my car into an Ark. Hwy. Dept. official weigh station off Interstate 30 and asked the friendly highway patrolman if we could weigh my car, he laughed and said, "Sure, pull it onto those scales over there." He gave me the weight ticket which reads, 3240 lbs., now I can just kick myself, but I forgot to ask him if he weighed the car with me in it or out of it. I tend to think he weighed it with me in it because I weigh 235 lbs and I was expecting a gross vehicle weight of closer to 3000 lbs., I'll do it again and be more precise next time. He also verbally told me the distribution between the front and rear because it isn't on the ticket and I forgot to write that down too. Oh well, it was late 12:42a.m. and I was tired and looking for a distraction almost as much as I wanted to satisfy my curiosity by actually weighing my car.

I am thinking your car is actually closer to 3240, as my old 930 weighs 2945lbs on a half a tank of gas (me out of it), and its an old car..no air bags, side impact stuff of the newer cars etc etc, look at the digital readout on the building

Is the gas tank on "E"? How much does a full tank of gas weigh?

My gas tank was at exactly 2/4 when it weighed in at 3240 lbs.
SlownRusty: Your logic seems reasonable. I will have it weighed again, and be more careful about writing down the detailed measurements. Although, I have no idea what the weight savings was (if any), I was hoping that since I have replaced the stock exhaust system (except headers) with a Cragraphic race exhaust and have the TechArt 19's, that the car would weigh a little less. Then again, there is a not insignificant amount of weight added by the EVOMS supercharger system.
I've often debated whether it was better to spend $15-20K on carbon fiber and other weight saving devices to "slim down" my 996SC or to just go on a diet for FREE to shed about 35-40 lbs. from my own fat ***. To this point, I've obviously opted for spending $ on more power, but am now reconsidering for weight reduction. I guess I don't really have to worry about it, since I only play on the track for fun.
